Robotics Team

On Saturday, the Clarksville Academy Robotics club competed in their first ever First Lego League (FLL) competition at Austin Peay State University.   Both teams, the Cyber Cougars and the 2D Robots, have worked extremely hard this school year working on their Hydrodynamics Project and Core Values presentations as well as learning how to build and program the robot to accomplish various missions.  We are extremely proud of how both teams represented CA during this competition.  The Team of 2D Robots were awarded 1st place for their presentation on the Core Values.  This combined with their ability to complete various missions during the Robot rounds has qualified the 2D Robots team to compete in the West TN FLL Championship Competition in Memphis TN on Jan 21st.  If you see any of these outstanding students congratulate them on their accomplishments.

Science News

First graders continue their study of Natural Resources.  Using google maps of Our Clarksville Academy campus, we identified the locations of trees, soil, and the nearby Cumberland River.  Students observe that Natural resources make up our Earth’s surface.  We had 14 different tree samples to observe.

Second graders sequenced 22 different Life Cycle examples. We observed changes in both plants and animals as they Live and Grow.

Third graders concluded their study of ecosystems by identifying 8 of our Earth’s habitats.  We constructed Food Webs for each ecosystem, identifying organisms (both plants and animals) associated with each one.

3rd Grade

Third grade students have been studying food chains, food webs and their components.  Students built multiple food chains, discussed the components and their roles within each food chain, and how they overlap to produce a food web in a given environment.
