AP Chemistry
Students completed 3 different titrations over this last week before spring break. Today they titrated Vinegar so that they could calculate the concentration of Acetic Acid in this common household chemical. An everyday form of titration, that is typically seen outside of a lab, is used when tested the pH of a swimming pool.
Youth In Government
YMCA Youth In Government [YIG] Youth Legislature state of Tennessee Annual Conference was held in Nashville in our State Capitol building. Clarksville Academy had six delegates in attendance: Austin Harnage, Owen Johnson, Hunter Farrell, Elizabeth Mabry, DJ McDowell and Parker Rice. The conference was the biggest ever with 800 youth from middle and west Tennessee participating in the four-day event held March 26-29, 2015. They stayed in the Sheraton Hotel, which is located across Legislative Plaza from the capitol. The team of Austin Harnage, Owen Johnson and Hunter Farrell were recognized for, and received an award for an Outstanding Bill in the Blue House. Their bill was ranked the highest in their committee on Thursday and was passed by the Blue House on Friday and passed by the Blue Senate on Saturday. Congratulations to them!

Varsity Baseball
Twenty-two members of the Varsity Baseball team traveled to Walt Disney World during Spring break last week. The boys played daily games at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex and were able to enjoy downtime at each of the parks. This was a wonderful experience for our team and we are proud of their efforts while there.
Box Tops & Campbell’s Labels
This is a reminder that CA collects Campbell’s labels and Box Tops through our CAA. The money raised from this project funds various school improvement projects. Last year we raised over $2000 through the Box Tops program alone! Please turn yours into your child’s teacher or Ms. Turnage in the front office.
