Lower School News: April 30 – May 4, 2018

3rd Grade

The third graders held a bake sale to raise money for the Heifer Organization. After studying a unit on Africa, the students decided they would raise money  to sponsor a gift of a goat to help families in Africa.  They raised enough money to purchase four goats and a flock of chickens to send to Africa.

Third graders had the pleasure of having APSU students share a lesson on “beekeeping”.  Students learned about the history of bees, their specific roles, the process of how bees produce honey, and why bees are so important to us.

Science Lab News

First, Second, and Third graders planted garden seed this week as we focused on “CA Says EVERYDAY is Earth Day”.  We discussed ways we can Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle. We determined ways we recycle at school, and ways we help at home.
