Pre-K
Pre-K will be studying bears and the Letter B next week. We will read and watch Michael Rosin’s “Going on a Bear Hunt.” On Friday, September 11, the Pre-K students will go on a bear hunt around campus and have the annual Teddy Bear Picnic. (Shhh! It’s a secret!)
4th Grade Fuse
Fourth grade FUSE Science students investigated various parts of plant cells using microscopes.
5th Grade Fuse
Fifth grade FUSE students investigated gummy bears soaked in four different solutions. Each group worked through the scientific method to determine if their hypotheses were correct about how each candy would change.
FUSE Social Studies students wrote and filmed newscasts using the NewsBooth app on their iPads, as they reflected upon their knowledge over The Lost Colony of Roanoke. The students have been conducting a history CSI case in class, looking at theories from historians over the course of the past 428 years. The students have developed their own theories of what happened to the missing colonists, and are hopeful the actual solution will be found soon!
FUSE Writing students worked in cooperative groups to create “stretched sentences” while working on descriptive writing.

Many of you take photos at various events and activities around school. We encourage you to share these with our Marketing/PR office as well as our yearbook staff by using the email photos@clarksvilleacademy.com. This email is designated for students and parents to send pictures taken throughout the school year. We encourage you to caption your photo or to write a sentence or two with the event name, students pictured in the photo and the date it was taken. We do not guarantee that every photo will be used, but we look forward to seeing your pictures.

Box Tops & Campbell’s Labels
This is a reminder that CA collects Campbell’s labels and Box Tops through our CAA. The money raised from this project funds various school improvement projects. Last year we raised over $2000 through the Box Tops program alone! Please turn yours into your child’s teacher or Ms. Turnage in the front office.
