FUSE
5th grade FUSE Writing students worked to create SUPER human/creatures as an inspiration for descriptive and creative writing. The students began this process by developing a character profile describing their creation’s traits. Students then artistically created their characters. In pairs, short story adventures were written combining each student’s creation. The classroom was full of excited authors and illustrators!
Fifth grade FUSE Science students experimented with acids and bases.
4th grade FUSE Social Studies and Writing students shared their persuasive letters written to Spanish viceroys. The students took on the role of captured Natives being forced to work on plantations, in gold mines, or those being held inside of missions. In their letters they tried to convince the viceroys to free them by explaining their desire for freedom, and the important role they play in their tribes.
4th grade FUSE students in Mrs. Morgan’s class worked to “dissect” their vocabulary words using Frayer Models. The students examined the meanings of their words by noting their definitions, synonyms, using the words in a sentence, and illustrating the meaning of each word. There were word parts everywhere!

Box Tops & Campbell’s Labels
This is a reminder that CA collects Campbell’s labels and Box Tops through our CAA. The money raised from this project funds various school improvement projects. Last year we raised over $2000 through the Box Tops program alone! Please turn yours into your child’s teacher or Ms. Turnage in the front office.
