Art
The Lower School enjoyed a first week in Art Class by making mini-masterpieces. These post-it sized works of art are on display in the main hallway. We invite everyone to stop by and view them.
Third Grade
Third graders investigate the features of living things, this week in Science Lab. They identify organisms, do comparisons, and make predictions.
Second grade
Students presented their summer reading projects and were excited to share with their classmates the great books they read over the break.
Girls on the Run
Girls on the Run is back at Clarksville Academy. This program is for girls in grades 3 – 5 and it allows them the opportunity to come together and strengthen life skills, and health and wellness, through running games and activities. Registration begins on August 22. Please visit www.gotrmiddletn.org for more information or email CA’s Girls on the Run program coordinator, Casey Jenkins, at caseyjenkins@live.com.
Art News
Welcome back Cougars! I had a wonderful summer and I hope you and your family did too! As we start this new school year, I just wanted to remind you of a few things that are very important to our lower school Art program:
- Even though we wear aprons in the art room, messes and stains still occur often, even for me! When your child has art as an Enrichment, be thoughtful about what they wear on those days.
- I usually, but not always, keep projects we create during the school year so that we can display them in the hallway, use them for Grandparents Day and other display/ classroom purposes. You will see most projects coming home near the end of the school year.
- As always, we are looking for donations! Wipes , Germx, and Kleenex are always needed in the art room.
Thank you for always supporting the Art program at CA and remember to ask your children what they are learning and doing in the art room! Feel free to email me with any questions or concerns at jbaldwin@clarksvilleacademy.com
