Back To School Bash

Thank you to our CAA for a wonderful Back to School Bash! We loved seeing everyone for this exciting event and hope you enjoyed it as well.

If you didn’t get your yard sign at the Back To School Bash, please stop by and pick one up from Mrs. Debbie Turnage or Mrs. Sally Allen. We would like for every CA family to have a Cougar Pride in their yard to show their school spirit. Once you have placed your sign, we ask you leave it up until at least Homecoming the week of September 18. We will have dates throughout the year we will ask you to post them! Be sure to take a photo of your children with the sign and send it to us at photos@clarksvilleacademy.com. We will be posting some of our favorites!

League Cost is $60 and uniform cost is additional but will not exceed $85. Tricia Briningstool is heading up this team and more information can be found by contacting her at briningstool@gmail.com. Registration is Tuesday, August 18 from 5-6 at the CA Sports Complex.

Kindergarten

Kindergarten will be going on our Chicka Chicka Boom Boom scavenger hunt for our alphabet letters this week. This is a fun and interactive way to tour the school and also recognize letters. Once we find our letters, we will work as a class to put the letters in ABC order. The students will visit Mrs. Turnage (front office), Mrs. Parker (nurse), Mrs. Kaki (Cougar Store), Mrs. Stowe (cafeteria), the Coaches in the gym. This scavenger hunt will help students become comfortable with key people they will come in contact with while at school. Our kindergartners will also create their own Chicka Chicka tree in class this week. As we focus on the color words for the next two weeks the students should dress in the corresponding color: Monday-Red, Tuesday-Yellow, Wednesday-Blue, Thursday-Green, Friday-Orange, Monday-Purple, Tuesday-Pink/Gray, Wednesday-Brown, Thursday-Black/White, Friday-Favorite color or school spirit colors. They will be learning to read, write, spell, and sing about the colors. The Kindergarten teachers are looking forward to a wonderful year.

Lower School Art News

Welcome back Cougars! I had a wonderful summer and I hope you and your family did too! As we start this new school year, I just wanted to remind you of a few things that are very important to our Art program. Even though we wear aprons in the art room, messes and stains still occur often, even for me! When your child has art as an Enrichment, be thoughtful about what they wear on those day. As always, we are looking for donations! Wipes , GermX, and Kleenex are always needed in the art room. Thank you for always supporting the Art program at CA and remember to ask your children what they are learning and doing in the art room!

iPad/iPhone App

We encourage you to download our mobile app from the App Store. We are currently only available on Apple products. This app will provide wonderful updates about what is going on at our school.

Box Tops & Campbell’s Labels

This is a reminder that CA collects Campbell’s labels and Box Tops through our CAA. The money raised from this project funds various school improvement projects. Last year we raised over $2000 through the Box Tops program alone! Please turn yours into your child’s teacher or Ms. Turnage in the front office.
