Kindergarten
Kindergarten enjoyed a little springtime fun with jellybeans. The students did an activity at the beginning of the school year similar to this with a lot of guidance from teachers. However, this time they were able to sort, count, graph, work math addition problems, and compare amounts all independently. They were so proud of themselves. Hands on activities helps to bring learning to life for our young students.
FUSE
5th-grade FUSE students had an amazing opportunity to speak with CA alumnus, Ben Clark. Ben Clark was the youngest person to ever climb Mount Everest without a professional guide. Students had read the novel Peak about a boy who attempts to be the youngest person to climb Mount Everest. This was an awesome conclusion to our unit!
1st grade
1st grade had such fun creating their 3D Monsters!
Science
Third Grade concludes its study of Force and Motion. We balanced our weights by moving them closer to the fulcrum. We discussed levers, pulleys, and wheels.
Second graders continue their unit in The Earth and its Neighbors. We constructed constellations using mini marshmallows and spaghetti strands.
Students in First Grade experimented with what happens when some solids are placed in liquids. We observed a unique dissolving pattern.

Box Tops
This is a reminder that CA collects Box Tops through our CAA. The money raised from this project funds various school improvement projects. Last year we raised over $2000 through the Box Tops program alone! Please turn yours into your child’s teacher or Ms. Turnage in the front office.
