Intermediate School News: February 19 – February 23, 2018

7th Grade Math

This week the 7th Graders work on a Scale-drawing project where they had to enlarge or shrink an original picture proportionally, based on the most appropriate scale of their choice. They learned how to calculate the drawing lengths based on the scale. They had to integrate their artistic skills, and also their language skills in writing a reflection for the project.

6th Grade English

In 6th grade, students completed a speaking and listening unit that required them to research and present on a possible class pet. Students were able to choose their animal. Presentations ranged from the typical guinea pig to pythons and sun conure. After students researched how to care for the animal, they also had to determine how the class would benefit (or not) from having their specific class pet.

7th Grade Science

The 7th grade sciences classes have been studying Mitosis.  To better understand the mitotic process, the students are in the process of creating a stop motion animation movie.  Each group of students will create their own version using  a stop motion app on their iPads and submitting for all the other students to watch.
