YAIPAKS Cold Weather Drive

Be Hope, Bring Joy. For kids by kids

YAIpaks Outreach is an amazing local organization that helps the homeless in our area. Next week CAPA and CA Interact will team up to collect winter items for needy children in our area. Items needed are coats, winter children’s clothing, and winter pajamas. We are also looking to collect NEW socks for both boys and girls (all sizes) and little girl underwear. We will take coats in all sizes, but need winter clothing items in children’s sizes. We look forward to your help in stocking their closets before it’s gets winter!! Donations can be brought to CA the week of November 12-15. More information will be sent via the CAPA email this week!

Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

On Friday, November 1st we will have our last home football game of the season. Tailgating will begin at 5:30, followed by a ribbon cutting ceremony for the new Mace Baseball Facility addition at 6 and Senior night at 6:30. We invite you to join us for tailgating, mosey on over to the baseball field to celebrate this wonderful donation from the Mace family and then head back to the field for the honoring our senior football players prior to kick off. It is sure to be a fun night!

The Development Office is excited to announce the addition of Christina Clark as Major Gifts Officer to our staff.  Christina will focus on securing major gifts on behalf of Clarksville Academy from those not currently donating.  Christina is a fixture in our CA family.  Christina’s husband of twenty years, Jon attended Clarksville Academy from Kindergarten through graduation. Her daughter Maggie graduated last year and is currently attending Rhodes College, while her daughter Molly is a member of the Class of 2022.  Christina has also served on the CA Parents Association Board for many years.  Please join us in welcoming Christina to our staff.

FUN RUN

That’s a wrap on the FUN RUN! Our grand total was $36,994 and we are so thankful for each and every one of you who participated! It was truly our best one yet! We saw 92% participation from our Lower School and 62% school wide participation. A special thank you to Kendra Milliken and Carin Hass for all their help organizing lower school prizes and working the run! THANK YOU!

FUN RUN

Clarksville Academy kicked off the 2nd Annual Fun Run last week! We saw an awesome first day of sales with 127/191 lower school students participating! We were blown away! We hope that all our students in PreK-12 will participate. Students are eligible for a variety of prizes suitable for all ages! This is a major fundraiser for our school and our goal is a big one–$35,000. Security Director Nick Williamson identified areas of improvement for to our security on campus. We felt this was a great thing for our Fun Run to benefit. Below you will find a list of items that all donations will go toward. Donations can be made through the Marketplace and that link can be shared online! The winning family is also eligible for a prize. We look forward to another great year of the run. Homecoming

Thank you to everyone who worked to make this such a special week! We could not do it without student participation and parent support/help! We appreciate you! FCA Update

We are so excited to announce that FCA will now have a prayer locker. This locker is designed for you to simply slip a prayer through the slats and FCA will pray for those requests during their Wednesday morning meetings. These can be done anonymously. This is located in the Senior Hallway near room 117.

See You At The Pole is a annual global event that takes place this year on 9.25.19. Please join F.C.A. at 7:15 Wednesday morning at the flag pole. All students,  parents,  faculty and staff are invited to meet for a short time of food, fellowship and prayer. We look forward to seeing you there!

This meeting is in preparation for the FAFSA and CSS Profile, which will both be available on October 1st!

The Development Office will add the position of Major Gifts Officer. This position will be part-time and focus on securing new major gifts for the Annual Fund. The position will be posted on CA’s website, TAIS and APSU’s career services site. We are excited about this addition.

Today began our Homecoming week festivities! (Monday, September 16-Friday, September 20). We have a fun-filled week planned for our students! Below you will find our Dress Up Days for the week (these are for grades PK-12). You will also find information on other happenings around our campus next week!

**There will be a spirit cart full of wonderful spirit items available for all ages! The FBLA will bring the Spirit Cart around to the Lower School during the week. A flyer will go home to Lower School this week with a list of items available.

Saturday night we will dance the night away! Homecoming Dances are for grades 6-8 and 9-12. The Intermediate School dance is held in the CA Aux Gym from 5:00-7:00 PM the cost is $10 at the door. Dress is “Sunday dress”. No jeans/shorts.

Upper School will host their dance from 8:00-11:00 PM in the Aux Gym and the cost is $10 at the door. Dress is semi-formal. No jeans/shorts.

Please remember that our main drive located on North 2nd is an EXIT ONLY at drop off and pickup. All drivers should enter either on Anderson Drive or on Cumberland Terrace. All cars will exit through our main gate. No one should enter during their during the school day. Also please note that the lane to the left (the lane with parking on both sides) is one way—exiting campus and cannot be accessed driving toward the main building. All students should be dropped off at the front of campus and not in the back near the gym. This is for safety reasons. If you have questions or concerns regarding parking or campus entry please contact Nick Williamson.

We are so thankful for ALL our supporters! As many of you know, we purchased the white house on the corner of Anderson Drive closest to the Fine Arts Building. This addition to our campus now houses both the Admissions & Business Offices. Our maintenance staff put a lot of hard work into making this house a new home for these offices. We want to give a HUGE thank you to Christina Clark for her help securing donations to the house. Thank you to Drs. Dave & Jennie Beth Johnston for donating the new awning, Eric & Christie Burger for purchasing the new sink and toilet for the downstairs bath, to Tim Sawyer for donating tiles for that same bathroom and for Heritage Tile for not only providing the tile for the kitchen and fireplace, but for covering the cost of labor and supplies for laying all tile in the house. We also want to thank the Byard and Mabry families for their donations to the Library for the new glass windows and doors. We could not do it without all their help! The Clarksville-Montgomery County School System is hosting their Annual College and Career Night on Wednesday, September 11th at the APSU Foy Center from 5:00-7:00p.m.  I encourage you to attend this FREE event.  In past years, they have had over 100 Colleges, Universities and Military organizations in attendance.
