Lower School News: February 26 – March 2, 2018

3rd Grade

Mrs. Williams’ third graders are dissecting Owl Pellets after reading “Poppy”.  A book about a Great Horned Owl and a family of mice trying survive in the forest.

The eggs have arrived to Mrs. Williams’ classroom.  Twenty days from now we hope to have a pen full of chickens!  Each year this is a favorite lesson for our students!

Dr. Suess Week

Don’t forget this is Dr Suess week!  Today was silly sock day, Tuesday is wear a mustache day, Wednesday is Wacky Hair or Wear a Hat Day, Thursday we ask you wear black, white and red, and finally Friday, wear red or blue or maybe a shirt with a fish or two!

Help for Victims

United Way is working with our local community partners to provide support and resources to families affected by tornado damage.  Although it’s short notice, below is an immediate opportunity for those who wish to help.  Please share with your networks as this is a quick turn-around, but will be incredibly beneficial to those rebuilding/refurnishing their homes, clothes, food and belongings.

In partnership with American Red Cross of Tennessee River and LifePoint Church, United Way of the Greater Clarksville Region is collecting $25 Visa Gift Cards for local families whose homes were damaged or destroyed by this weekend’s tornado. Gift cards can be dropped off at the United Way office (529 N. Second Street, Clarksville) by 4:30pm today (Monday, 2/26/18) and will be presented to the families this evening at a dinner provided for them by LifePoint.
