This year instead of Magazine Sales CA will participate in the Boosterthon Fun Run! This program kicks off Tuesday with an exciting Pep Rally for the students! The pledging portion will run from October 16-25. Our PK-5th grade students will participate in the Cougar Fun Run on Thursday, October 25 at the Sports Complex. Grades 7-12 will compete in a Color Run the afternoon of October 25 also at the Sports Complex. Due to 6th grade traveling to Fall Creek Falls, they will have a special GLOW Run on Monday, October 29 in the gym! Students will get pledges for the number of laps they will run. All donations will be done online to make it quick and easy! Intermediate and Upper School students must raise at least $50 in order to participate. This exciting event is sure to be fun for all ages! Watch your email for more information! All students should register on funrun.com
**If you would like to volunteer to help at either the fun run the morning of October 25 or the Color Run the afternoon of October 25, please contact Sally Allen at email@example.com.
School Photo Retakes will take place on November 1. We will also make lower school class photos on this day.
Juniors & Seniors
Jostens will be on campus next Monday to meet with Juniors and Seniors regarding class ring and announcement orders. Packets will go home that day. Jostens will return to CA on Tuesday, October 30, 2018, between 11:45 A.M. and 1:20 P.M. to take orders. They will be located in the library on ordering day.
7th & 8th Grade Parent Meeting
There will be a Washington DC Trip parent meeting on Wednesday, October 24 at 5PM in the gym.
Boo Grams will go on sale on Thursday, October 17. They are $1 and can be purchased through your child’s teacher, a Builder’s Club student or Mrs. Turnage.
The Winter Carnival will be held on December 1 from 10-2. Reminder that each grade or class will have a game in the Reindeer Games area. More information is coming soon! We also encourage organizations, clubs or athletic teams to use this as an opportunity to raise money for their group! The Carnival will include Reindeer Games (grade/class booths), Mistletoe Market (larger vendor area), the Jingle Bell Jog, FaLaLa Food Court, Santa’s Silent Auction and more! If you are interested in being a vendor at the Winter Carnival contact Nicole Williamson at 931-801-2488 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Clarksville Academy Parent Association (CAPA, formerly CAA) is getting a new name! This association will host a variety of events throughout the year for parents, guardians, and grandparents to get involved by volunteering your time and/or contributions. We certainly hope you will join us in making CA an even greater place for our children, faculty and staff! Please contact Beth Mabry on how to get involved: email@example.com.
Box Tops, Publix Cards, Kroger Plus Cards
Did you know that you that CA takes box tops for education labels from various products? Last year CA was able to receive several hundred dollars from these labels alone! Simply cut and keep labels and send to school in a Ziploc bag. We also offer Publix shopping cards (a key tag to use when checking out). If you scan this key tag at every visit, CA receives a portion of your purchase. Kroger will also donate to CA for everyone who registers their Kroger plus with CA. It’s quick and easy, just visit their website!
Throughout the year if you take photos at various school events and would like to submit them for possible use in the yearbook or for marketing purposes, please send them to firstname.lastname@example.org.
