Interact Club Attends Rotary Meeting on 10/8/15

Seven members of the CA Interact Club attended the Clarksville Sunrise Rotary Club meeting on Thursday, October 8. The students helped open the meeting, with Brinley Meek leading the club in prayer, and Elizabeth Mabry leading the Pledge of Allegiance. The guest speaker, Gregory Granderson, was a Clarksville Police Officer and the leader of the GREAT program for Clarksville- Montgomery County. DJ MCDowell assisted Officer Granderson in his presentation. The Rotarians were delighted to see our club so well represented and look forward to our joining them at future meetings.

Governor’s School

The 2016 Governor’s School applications are now available at: https://www.tn.gov/education/topic/tdoe-governors-schools

The Tennessee Governor’s Schools offer selected gifted and talented high school students intensive learning experiences on postsecondary campuses. Students in the tenth and eleventh grades who would like to participate in a challenging and high-intensity program in one of the twelve areas should speak with their school counselor. Each Governor’s School convenes a review/selection committee, which will select the students after all applications are submitted.

All applications must be submitted through Mrs. Denise Walker at least 1 week prior to the deadline. Please note, each school’s deadline is different. The deadlines range between November 6, 2015 through December 15, 2015. Please see me if you have questions.

Photos

Many of you take photos at various events and activities around school. We encourage you to share these with our Marketing/PR office as well as our yearbook staff by using the email photos@clarksvilleacademy.com. This email is designed for students and parents to send pictures taken throughout the school year. W encourage you to caption your photo or to write a sentence or two with the event name, students pictured in the photo and the date it was taken. We do not guarantee that every photo will be used, but we look forward to seeing your pictures.

Box Tops & Campbell’s Labels

This is a reminder that CA collects Campbell’s labels and Box Tops through our CAA. The money raised from this project funds various school improvement projects. Last year we raised over $2000 through the Box Tops program alone! Please turn yours into your child’s teacher or Ms. Turnage in the front office.
