Upper School News – March 23 – 29, 2015

Buddy Run

Clarksville Academy’s Annual Buddy Run will take place at the Queen City Road Race on Saturday, May 2.  We invite everyone to participate! Students in lower school will be paired with an intermediate/upper school student for the run.  Registration is $5 for the 1 mile Fun Run and $10 for the Buddy Run run t-shirt.  Participants should fill out the Queen City Road Race entry form and the CA Buddy Run Form and return those to school no later than April 1.  Forms will go home with Lower School students today.  Questions about the Buddy Run should be sent to Christie Burger, cburger@clarksvilleacademy.com.

Athlete of the Week

Bryan Dirksen was named as Athlete of the Week by ClarksvilleNow.com during assembly on Friday. Bryan signed with McKendree University last week to bowl collegiately. Congratulations to Bryan!

Science Fair

Our Junior class participated in APSU’s annual Science Fair last week. Each student researched an intensive project and were judged in various categories. Awards will be given on April 6.

Steak Dinner

Please make note that CA’s Annual An Evening with Friends Steak Dinner will now be on Saturday, April 18, 2015, at 6:00 P.M.  Tickets may be purchased through Mrs. Kari Turner in the front office through April 2, 2015.

Chili Supper

On Monday, March 30 our CBL group will host a Chili Supper to benefit the Firehouse Day Shelter. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children 10 and under. The event takes place from 6:30-8 at the Cumberland Room, 2525 Highway 48 South. To pre-purchase tickets please contact Sydney Halliday at shalliday@clarksvilleacademy.com. Please come out and support this event.

Dr. Brooks, from APSU, came over today to help Payton McNeely understand her Science Project on a deeper level. Due to the small class size, he was able to include the entire class in the discussion. Such an awesome experience!

FCA will meet each Wednesday at 7:15 AM in Coach Chuck Holt’s room. We invite everyone to attend!

Box Tops & Campbell’s Labels

This is a reminder that CA collects Campbell’s labels and Box Tops through our CAA. The money raised from this project funds various school improvement projects. Last year we raised over $2000 through the Box Tops program alone! Please turn yours into your child’s teacher or Ms. Turnage in the front office.
