Intermediate School News – May 11th – May 17th, 2015

Ford Drive One for Your School

Calling all parents…we need your help! Next week on Wednesday, May 13 we will host the Ford Drive One for Your School event. This event will take place in our front parking lot from 9-1:30 PM. Parents, grandparents, friends, are invited to come by school and simply ride along in one of Ford’s new products. By doing this Ford will give $20 for each rider (only one per household/address). We will have a sign-up available for parents or student drivers who are over 18. We encourage you to take part in this great event. A sign up sheet is located here:

The grade with the most participation will receive an end of the year ice cream party! (Each rider can only count for 1 grade…so ask friends and family to participate on behalf of multiple children!) Share this sign up sheet with grandparents, neighbors, your entire office staff, etc. We encourage as many as possible to come out and participate!

Field Day

Intermediate School Field Day will take place on Friday, May 15 at the Cougar Sports Complex. Students should go directly to the field at 8 and can be picked up from there at 3. Appropriate athletic wear and hats are acceptable for this day. There will be a day filled with organized team games as well as exciting faculty vs. stduents events. Lunch is provided free by your student council and concessions will be open so be sure to bring money for that! We look forward to a fun filled day!

8th Grade Science

8th grade students explored the electrical circuits by completing tasks designed to challenge the learner. Students experimented with water and salt to determine its effect on currents.

6th Grade Science

6th graders are learning about energy and completed a STEM project creating a solar paneled house.

FCA will meet each Wednesday at 7:15 in Tecia Hinson’s room.Everyone is invited.

Box Tops & Campbell’s Labels

This is a reminder that CA collects Campbell’s labels and Box Tops through our CAA. The money raised from this project funds various school improvement projects. Last year we raised over $2000 through the Box Tops program alone! Please turn yours into your child’s teacher or Ms. Turnage in the front office.
