Bell Witch

We are thrilled to have Judy Donnelly joining us next Tuesday, October 27, and Wednesday, October 28, in the Dorothy Martin Library to share with us the history and folklore of the Bell Witch from Adams, Tennessee. Ms. Donnelly is a resident of Trenton, Kentucky, and is a retired English teacher with a passion for local history and story telling.

If you would like to join us for this event, please see the times below that are available. Reservations are not required. Students in grades 4 through 12 have already been issued designated times to attend.
Families may stop by Tuesday, October 27 at 8:30 AM or Wednesday, October 28 at 9:00AM. We look forward to having you visit.

Apple Distinguished School

Clarksville Academy has once again been chosen as an Apple Distinguished School. This recognition is for two years and our renewal is for 2015-2017. To be chosen as an Apple Distinguished School means we met five best practices and criteria for excellence—Visionary Leadership, Innovative Learning & Teaching, Ongoing Professional Learning, Compelling Evidence of Success and a Flexible Learning Environment. The selection of Clarksville Academy as an Apple Distinguished School highlights our success as an innovative and compelling learning environment that engages students and provides tangible evidence of academic accomplishment. Congratulations to everyone who helped us to achieve this honor.

 

Fall Festival

Thank you to everyone who came out and supported the Fall Festival this past Saturday. We had a wonderful day and it couldn’t have been possible without all our parents and students who supported us. A special thank you to our Fall Festival Coordinator, Candice Wall. Candice does a fabulous job keeping everything organized and running smoothly! We can’t wait to see you all next year!

 

The Great Pumpkin

Olive Garden & Athletics

Olive Garden has teamed up with Clarksville Academy Athletics!

Please join us for a night of fun, food and fundraising at Olive Garden on NOVEMBER 3RD (4pm – Close). Olive Garden will donate up to $1000 to Clarksville Academy Athletics.

Come dine with your Clarksville Academy family and friends. NOVEMBER 3RD is the night to show our school spirit to our community, don’t forget to tag your photos with #SPIRITNIGHT and mention @OliveGarden for your chance to win prizes!

Player of the Week

Julie Parks, from Heritage Bank, and Head Football Coach Todd Hood presents Connor Thomas with the Player of The Week Award based on his outstanding performance in the road game against Perry Co. High School this past Friday night, October 23rd. Connor had a great night with 6 carries for 53 yards and 3 touchdowns and caught 2 passes for 163 yards and another 2 touchdowns. After a blocked punt by Christopher Gillespie, Connor scooped the ball and ran 48 yards for a touchdown. The Cougars won the region match up 53 to 12. Coach Hood declared “Connor continues to play with a fire and competitive spirit and leads our team.” We had a great team effort and I’m proud of our team. The Cougars play Houston County this week for third place in the region. Game is away and starts at 7pm.

Boo Grams

Boo Grams are on sale now through Thursday at noon. Boo Grams are a great treat for that special student or teacher. They are $1 each and come with a personalized note and treat. Boo Grams can be purchased from Mrs. Turnage and all Lower School students should have had a few sent home. If you would like to purchase a boo gram simply fill out the card attach $1 and return to your child’s teacher.

 

Fine Arts Blog

The Fine Arts department has started a weekly blog of their activities! We hope you will check back often to see what your student may be doing in art, music, and drama. Important dates and performance information will also be posted. Bookmark this site for exciting information!

Photos

Many of you take photos at various events and activities around school. We encourage you to share these with our Marketing/PR office as well as our yearbook staff by using the email photos@clarksvilleacademy.com. This email is designated for students and parents to send pictures taken throughout the school year. We encourage you to caption your photo or to write a sentence or two with the event name, students pictured in the photo and the date it was taken. We do not guarantee that every photo will be used, but we look forward to seeing your pictures.

 

iCougar App

We encourage everyone with an apple device to download the iCougar app today. This is a great way to stay updated with all the latest in school closings, emergency notifications, etc. If you already have the app, please make sure to go to the app store and update it! A new update was released in January. We are currently investigating the Android market and hope to have it available there soon.

 

Attendance

Please contact Kristi Truitt at ktruitt@clarksvilleacademy.com when your child is going to be out of school. This helps us to keep our attendance records up to date. If you know your child will be late due to an appointment please let us know that as well. Thank you.

 

Cougar Bucks

Cougar Bucks may be added to your Cougar Card any time day or night! We encourage everyone to take advantage of this easy way to pay for lunch, break, or even the Cougar Store! Payments can be made through our online Marketplace at the below link or by visiting Mrs. Kristi Truitt in the Cougar Café.

News from the Cougar Café

Please remember to Pre-Order Lunch each week. This is very important even when you are on the annual or bi-annual lunch plan. Clarksville Academy now offers a Cougar Bucks Account option to better assist children with their lunch needs! This convenient option gives families the opportunity to deposit money into an account and this money can be withdrawn for miscellaneous items that are available at the express window or the hot lunch window. Payments can now be made via the new online marketplace!

Box Tops & Campbell’s Labels

This is a reminder that CA collects Campbell’s labels and Box Tops through our CAA. The money raised from this project funds various school improvement projects. Last year we raised over $2000 through the Box Tops program alone! Please turn yours into your child’s teacher or Ms. Turnage in the front office.
