All School News March 9 – 15, 2015

Full School Day Friday

An email was sent over the weekend detailing our change in schedule for this Friday, March 13.

The scheduled Friday, March 13 Professional Development day for Faculty and Staff will be converted to a regular school day.

All students will have school on Friday, March 13th

Teacher and staff development, which is very important and a requirement for our accreditation with SACS CASI, will be revised and conducted in smaller 30-minute sessions after school between now and the end of the school year.

Intermediate and Upper school students’ class schedule will be regular on M-F to provide teachers face-to- face instruction time with the students each day this week.

Questions should be addressed either to Gina Goostree, Lower School Head, Tracy Burkhart, Intermediate School Head or Erica Coleman, Upper School Head or Kay Drew, Head of School.

Steak Dinner

With our recent days out of school and the inability to have weekend rehearsals on campus for this year’s performance at CA’s Annual An Evening with Friends Steak Dinner, the Steak Dinner committee has come to a decision that there is inadequate time for preparation to continue with our original March 7th show date.  Please make note that CA’s Annual An Evening with Friends Steak Dinner will now be on Saturday, April 18, 2015, at 6:00 P.M.  Tickets may be purchased through Mrs. Kari Turner in the front office.

A new RSVP card has been mailed to replace the one you received earlier.  We apologize for any scheduling conflicts that this may have caused your family, but to have a top rate dinner and performance of this caliber, this decision was necessary.

Please mark your calendar and we look forward to seeing you there!

Re-enrollment

We are currently undergoing re-enrollment here at CA. Families should submit their re-enrollment contracts before March 10. All returning families have their space secured for the 2015-2016 school year until March 10. After this date we will begin open enrollment for any student in our community. If you have questions regarding re-enrollment please see the Business Office.

Skating Rescheduled

Due to our recent winter weather break, the PE Department had to push the Skating lesson to March 16-18. This is for grades 3-9th.

A new update was released in January. We are currently investigating the Android market and hope to have it available there soon.

Expanding the Experience

Clarksville Academy is still very excited about our expansion plans! As you can see a new expansion is slated to open January 2015 and is adjacent to the main building. This expansion is really booming on the north end of our campus and we are thrilled with the process! In this expanded part of the main building we have the opportunity for a few more classrooms to be named. We have had a few families reserve naming rights on some of the classrooms, but still have a couple left. If you are interested in honoring or memorializing someone in this way, please contact Sally Allen at sallen@clarksvilleacademy.com or 647-6311. These won’t last long.

Our hope is to have the new building shown below completed by 2020. We need your help do this! Contact Sally Allen at sallen@clarksvilleacademy.com to find out what you can do to help us reach our goal.

Box Tops & Campbell’s Labels

This is a reminder that CA collects Campbell’s labels and Box Tops through our CAA. The money raised from this project funds various school improvement projects. Last year we raised over $2000 through the Box Tops program alone! Please turn yours into your child’s teacher or Ms. Turnage in the front office.
