Presentation
Infantry Med Sergeant 1st Class Jason Wendell presented Athletic Director Jake Peterson with a flag and commemorative plaque during assembly on Monday morning. The flag and plaque were presented to thank Coach Peterson for his tireless efforts over the past few years to live broadcast our sports activities for those who could not be there. Sergeant Wendell has been deployed throughout the recent years and due to Coach Peterson’s dedication to broadcasting our events live he has been able to watch his oldest son Zach (a 2016 CA graduate) in various school events, including baseball games, speaking at the Veteran’s Day program and even graduation. The flag presented was flown on board a UH-60 Blackhawk Helicopter during combat on May 24, 2106.
Varsity Dance
Six of the Varsity Dance team are participating in the Half Time Extravaganza on Saturday at the Titans football game against Carolina Panthers. The dancers participating are Lily Johnson, Elizabeth Mabry, Bayleigh Robinson, Anne Marie Rocconi, Chandler Vinson, and Maggie Watkins. This is an exciting opportunity for the girls to dance in front of a crowd of over 65,000 fans.
Italian I and II
The Italian classes have gotten off to a great start. Students in Italian I have been learning the alphabet and numbers through sounding out words and playing Bingo! Students also used the Italian numbers for some basic math exercises. In Italian II students reviewed material from last year while playing Charades and learning about famous Italians.
Box Tops
This is a reminder that CA collects Box Tops through our CAA. The money raised from this project funds various school improvement projects. Last year we raised over $2000 through the Box Tops program alone! Please turn yours into your child’s teacher or Ms. Turnage in the front office.
