Clarksville Academy’s Upper School Science Fair will premier at 2:00 Wednesday March 13th in the Gym. Students will use this opportunity to practice for the official MTSEF Science Fair that will occur on March 21st. All CA faculty, staff, students and parents are invited to attend!

The next ACT deadline is fast approaching. All Clarksville Academy Juniors will test on April 13, 2013. Any student interested in signing up for the April 13, 2013, ACT test needs to do so by Friday, March 8, 2013. Students can register for the ACT at www.actstudent.org. Gateway VolunTeen Program 2013
Applications for the 2013 Gateway VolunTeen Program are available in our guidance office. This program allows students to experience the activities of a medical facility while giving back to their community. Students must be able to commit to the entire 4 week session. Guidelines are as follows:
-Students must be 14 years of age by May 1, 2013, and completing the 9th grade or above to participate.
-You can be no older than 18 years of age on May 1, 2013, to participate.
-You must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 as confirmed by your guidance counselor.
-Require two letters of reference and a 150-200 word essay.
-Attend orientation on Friday, June 14, 8:30 am – 12:30 pm (Mandatory).
-Volunteer twice a week (you will have a set schedule) the weeks of June 17, June 24, July 8, and July 15.
(The week of July 1st is an optional volunteer week due to the Independence Day holiday.)
All VolunTeen applications are due to Mrs. Denise Walker, School Counselor, by Monday, March 25th.
Chaney Laurent will have her photography 2 photo exhibit on display in the Brenda Stone Fine Arts Building beginning on March 26. Her opening reception will be at 6 PM on this date. We invite all our Cougars to come out and support Chaney.
The annual Steak Dinner, An Evening with Friends is a 23 year tradition at CA that will take place on Saturday, March 23. It is night of great food, wonderful music and friends. You won’t want to miss this year’s show featuring the Lower School Cougar Choir, the Intermediate School Choir & the Upper School Show Choir! They have been working hard all year to prepare a wonderful night! Steak dinner tickets will go on sale March 4 in the front office! Tickets are $75.

Varsity tennis kicks off it’s season this week with a home match against Waverly on Monday, a match at Creekwood on Tuesday, and bring it back home on Friday when they take on Cheatham County! Go Cougars!
Varsity Soccer will play Tuesday at University School, and play Kenwood at home on Wednesday.
The baseball team plays at Northeast on Tuesday, is in a scrimmage at West Creek in which we play Greenbrier on Thursday and continue the tournament on Saturday with games against Kenwood & Sycamore.
Softball will travel to Northwest on Tuesday, make their way to Stewart County on Thursday and end the week with a game at Ft. Campbell High on Friday.
Intermediate School Baseball
Intermediate Baseball has a great week of baseball! The week starts at home on Monday against East Robertson. On Tuesday we travel to University School and Friday we play at Rossview!
Please join Fellowship of Christian Athletes on Wednesdays for our meeting! This year Upper school FCA will meet in Coach Holt’s classroom #118 (under the gym). We will be meeting on Wednesday mornings at 7:15 a.m. Please come and be a part of FCA, everyone is welcome!
