Math Team

Tabitha Lee, a Clarksville Academy high school freshman won 1st place for Geometry, individual category, at the TMTA State Math Contest, held at Austin Peay State University, on April 12, 2016.
The CA high school Geometry team consisting of Tabitha Lee , Christy Zheng , Cheyenne Delbert, Stone Norris, and Bryson Batson (all freshman) also took 3rd place in the Geometry team category.
TMTA (Tennessee Mathematic Teachers Association) State Math Contest is one of the most established, prestigious and competitive Math Contests in the State of Tennessee. TMTA gave its first math contest exam in 1957. Every year, hundreds of middle and high school students from the surrounding counties compete at APSU testing center. This year, the CA Math Team, led by Mr. Corey Boyd, and Coached by Dan Burden came in strong, placing 1st in individual, and 3rd in team for the Geometry category. The students of the Math team worked hard for the competition, and spent many hours outside of normal school hours to prepare for the contest, under Dan Burden’s guidance. We are proud of all who competed in this competition. Great job to these students!

Spanish Class

Mr. Magrans Spanish classes are doing such exciting things! They are currently in the middle of a Latin American Dance Lesson and visited Dance World (one of the fastest growing dance studios in the country). Students spent the day learning intermediate movements so that they can then take this knowledge to choreograph their own dances for a dance competition here at school! Additionally many students are participating in partnership with a school/orphanage in the Dominican Republic. They have been skyping with these students the past few weeks and will continue to do so until the end of the school year. This helps them to practice their interpretive, interpersonal and language skills.

Photos

Many of you take photos at various events and activities around school. We encourage you to share these with our Marketing/PR office as well as our yearbook staff by using the email photos@clarksvilleacademy.com. This email is designed for students and parents to send pictures taken throughout the school year. We encourage you to caption your photo or to write a sentence or two with the event name, students pictured in the photo and the date it was taken. We do not guarantee that every photo will be used, but we look forward to seeing your pictures.

Box Tops & Campbell’s Labels

This is a reminder that CA collects Campbell’s labels and Box Tops through our CAA. The money raised from this project funds various school improvement projects. Last year we raised over $2000 through the Box Tops program alone! Please turn yours into your child’s teacher or Ms. Turnage in the front office.
