Indoor Practice and Facility Guidelines

Following our fall break and the time change, we experience increased “after school hour” usage of our indoor facilities for athletic team practices, faculty fitness classes, and school sponsored events such as Fall Festival.  To assist with building maintenance and management of the wide range of schedules the following guidelines have been developed by the athletic department and maintenance department.

Coaches and players for the scheduled practice time are the only people that are to be in the area. We want to give our coaches and players the best  opportunity to coach, learn, communicate and build team chemistry within their teams.
Parents waiting for players to complete practice should wait in their vehicles.
Please share with your child/player where you will be waiting to pick them up.  Front parking lot or lower parking lot in back.  The black top area outside the gym should be for handicap and emergency vehicles only.
Faculty fitness/cheerleading practice may be held in in the courtyard on the  black top when weather permits.  For safety reasons, pick up and parking should be at other locations.
All coaches will follow a practice schedule and families will be aware of times practices begin and end. Please allow time for your child to visit the locker room following practice.
Players waiting for practice should be in the designated waiting area.  Different age groups will have different holding areas.  Sitting in the bleachers while waiting will not be an option.
Practices will be closed to coaches and players of the team.  Our coaches are hired because, we feel, they are the best for the job. Trust their coaching and management of teams.
Parent/Coach conversations should happen outside of practice time.  Please request time to speak with the coach and a time can be arranged that works well for both parties.

We appreciate your cooperation during this very busy time of the year and exciting basketball season!
