Halloween
Students in Intermediate and Upper School are NOT permitted to wear Halloween costumes, masks, face paint, etc for Halloween on Wednesday.
Germany

Cross Country
Cross Country Regionals were held Thursday at Steeple Chase. Bailey Foote took 6th place and Evelyn Turner finished 20th out of 93 runners and each received Medals. The boys finished overall 19th place with Adrian Ortiz having the fastest time. Way to Go Cougars! A Great Finish for the Cross Country Season. Bailey Foote will move on to State on Nov. 3rd.
Soccer News
Congratulations to our girls for being District Runner-Ups in the District Tournament in Macon County last week. Our girls had a wonderful season! Also congratulations to: Shelby Chapmen earned the Most Valuable District Goal Keeper award. Mallory Burman, Abby Martin, and Nicki Goad all made the All-district team. Kalyn Riley, Taylor Treadway, and Lacey Rainville all made the All- tournament team. We play in regionals on Tuesday, October 23rd at 7pm at CPA! Great job ladies!

Football News
The Cougars are ranked #1 in the District after an amazing win against McEwen Friday! We have been awarded a bye week this week for the first round of tournament play. We will take on the winner of the McEwen/Nashville Christian game next Friday, November 9 at Simpson Field. If you are interested in Tailgating before the game please contact Theresia Burchett at tburchett@clarksvilleacademy.com to reserve your spot. All reservations are required to put up a tent or have a decorated tailgate space. Reservations are required please.
You’re Invited
Friday, November 2, 2012, your Varsity Cheerleaders are sponsoring a LOCK-IN from the hours of 7pm to 7am. The cost of the LOCK-IN is $10.00 and all proceeds will go toward the cheerleaders trip to the 2013 Capital One Bowl. This summer the squad traveled to Gulf Shores, Alabama, for their UCA summer camp and competed against high school squads from other states. The squad earned the right to perform at the Pre-Game performance on New Year’s Day at the 2013 Capital One Bowl Game in Orlando, Florida. Please help support the Varsity Cheer Squad by allowing your child to attend the LOCK-IN. Students will only be allowed to leave early if we have spoken with a parent or if a parent picks them up.
News from the School Counselor
Friday, November 2, 2012, is the final day to register for the December ACT. The next test date is not until February 2013. There are 3 test dates a year where you can pay for a Test Information Release (TIR). The TIR authorizes ACT to send you a list of your answers, a copy of the multiple-choice test questions, the answer key, and the scoring instructions. The cost for the TIR is $19.00. The TIR form is available on the ACT website at www.actstudent.org. During the testing cycle 2012-2013, December, April and June are the only test dates ACT will offer the TIR data.
Leadership Project
The Leadership Seminar class is made up of Juniors and Seniors at CA. These students have come together to partner with the Firehouse Homeless Shelter to provide food, clothing, personal hygiene items, etc. We ask that all CA families support this project and send any of the following items to school by November 16.
New/Used Backpacks
New/Used Coats
New Winter Hats/Gloves
New Men’s or Women’s Underwear
New women’s sports bras
Personal Hygiene Items (such as deodorant, soap, shampoo, toothbrushes/paste, women’s hygiene products)
Socks
All items should be brought no later than Nov 16.
Softball Conditioning
Conditioning is Mondays and Wednesdays starting at 5:30pm. Ladies in fall sports are excused from conditioning.
FCA
Please join Fellowship of Christian Athletes on Wednesdays for our meeting! This year Upper school FCA will meet in Coach Holt’s classroom #118 (under the gym). We will be meeting on Wednesday mornings at 7:15 a.m. Please come and be a part of FCA, everyone is welcome!
