Upper School News for November 18 – 24, 2013

The Model United Nations

The Model United Nations annual conference was held in Murfreesboro, TN Friday through Sunday November 15-17, 2013. This years delegates were Adrian Ortiz, Austin Harnage, Brinley Meek, Iliana Toro, Sedona Tooley, Suraj Prabhu, Alexa Griffith, Elizabeth Mabry, Owen Johnson, Tyler Smith. Jessica Frederick, and Heidi Eames.

There were approximately 500 students from around the state of Tennessee at the conference learning about international politics. Alexa Griffith was recognized with the Outstanding Delegate Award. Approximately four percent of the delegates were recognized with this award this year.



Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership (Hoby) Award

Each year Clarksville Academy is allowed to select a Clarksville Academy Sophomore to represent our school at the Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership (HOBY) Seminar. HOBY is the nation’s foremost youth leadership development organization. HOBY programs provide youth with unique leadership training to make a better world. The seminar allows students to recognize their leadership talents and apply them in becoming effective, ethical leaders in their home, school, and community. Congratulations to Evelyn Turner for being selected the primary HOBY representative and Shelby Pendergrast for the alternate HOBY representative!

Congratulations to AnnaMichelle Moore for signing a letter of intent to play golf with APSU!! Way to go AnnaMichelle!!



Clarksville Academy United

Please join us on Thursday, November 21st , during the basketball game for the United Way/Dessert cook off. We invite you to show off your cooking skills and enter your prize-winning chili or desserts (or both)! There is a $20 entrance fee for each team. Please contact Kari Turner,, for more information.


Opportunity to Help

Clarksville Academy has been asked to assist with collecting clothing for a family of six in the community that has experienced a recent tragedy. Please contact Mrs. Turnage for more information.

CA needs your help!!

We ask anyone who may have jars with lids to donate them to CA by Monday, December 2nd. Baby jars are preferred, but pickle jars, spaghetti jars, etc. will work. Thank you!


Thanksgiving Dinner at CA

Please join us on Monday, November 25, 2012 for the Clarksville Academy’s Thanksgiving Dinner. Lunch includes Turkey, Dressing, Cranberry Sauce, Mashed Potatoes, Green Beans, and Pumpkin Pie. Please reserve your spot by Thursday, November 21st.


CA at Macy’s Day Parade

The 2013 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City will feature a performance by more than 700 cheerleading and dance team members representing Varsity Spirit. This year three of Clarksville Academy’s Varsity Cheerleaders, Merideth Hinson, Nicole Mullins, and Victoria Favorite, will be a part of this elite group of cheerleaders that will perform in the 87th annual 2013 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. Congratulations!!!
