Child Care for October 5
The Varsity Cheerleaders are offering a day of child care on Friday, October 5, 2012 from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The cheerleaders have been invited to perform at the 2013 Capital One Bowl in Orlando, Florida, on New Years Day and are using this as a fundraiser for their trip. The cost is $50.00 per child. The cheerleaders will offer movies, games, crafts, and much more. Each child will need to bring their lunch and a snack.
Please email Mrs. Denise Walker at firstname.lastname@example.org if you are interested or if you have questions. There is a minimum number of children required. Please sign up by noon on Wednesday, October 3, 2012. You will be notified by 3:00 on Wednesday, October 3, 2012, if we received enough sign ups for Friday!
4th Grade Scarecrows
4th grade art is making scarecrows that will be displayed and up for sale at the Fall Festival. We are looking for the following supplies that might be in your goodwill piles: a couple of pairs black pants, black shirt, a white shirt, an old album (vinyl record), a toy microphone, old shoes, old hats, a cougar jersey, old football pants, an old football helmet (can be a toy helmet), a pair of old cleats, a gray wig, a hat that George Washington might have worn, a green shirt, and a pair of green pants.
If you have any of these items and would like to donate them to our scarecrow project, email Susan Lawless at email@example.com.
Lower School Music
Third, Fourth, and Fifth grade students will be playing recorders again this year. If your child does not have a recorder, you can purchase one by sending $4 to Mrs. Bubb by Thursday, October 3rd. If your child has a recorder at home, please send it to school as soon as possible. Don’t forget to put your child’s name on the recorder!
1st & 2nd Grades
Ms. Kemmer, Mrs. Lynn, Ms. Williams & Ms. Traughber’s classes will go to Valley Brook Park on Wednesday, October 3 for an ice cream party to celebrate making their magazine goals! Way to go guys!
Lower School Art
Like our Lower School Art Facebook Page! Mrs. Lawless is collecting bottle caps of all sizes and colors for an art project. Please save your bottle caps and bring in a Ziploc bag to lower school art. Towards the end of September, fourth graders are going to be designing and constructing scarecrows. We are in need of old Halloween costumes, old clothes, hats, gloves, etc. We will take anything that might make a scarecrow come to life. All donations will be appreciated! Send in with your child or leave at front desk with Mrs. Turnage for Mrs. Lawless.
Box Tops & Campbell’s Labels
This is a reminder that CA collects Campbell’s labels and Box Tops through our CAA. The money raised from this project funds various school improvement projects. Last year we raised over $1500 through the Box Tops program alone! Please turn yours into your child’s teacher or Ms. Turnage in the front office.
