As the school year gets near, we know you want to do everything possible to be prepared.  Below you will find the most up to date announcements concerning the start of school.

Cougar Come Back Bash

On Monday, August 13th, 2012, from 5:30 P.M. – 7:00 P.M., Clarksville Academy will be hosting a Cougar Come Back Bash.

We encourage all students and parents to come out and help us celebrate a new school year.

Pizza, chips, drinks, music, games, and prizes will all be available on the blacktop throughout the event. Be sure to be here at 6:45 P.M. for the introduction of the 2012 Cougar Football Team, Cheer Squad, and Dance Team!

 

MacBook Information for new students:

For new freshman and transfer students, the Macbook insurance fee of $36 is due at the Macbook iLearn session on July 23rd, 2012.  You will also be required to sign the Acceptable/Responsible Use Policy before departing with the device.  The Macbook lease fee of $450 is due at orientation.  You may set up a monthly bank draft for this fee.

Returning students are required to pay the insurance fee at orientation.  You will be required to sign the Acceptable/Responsible Use Policy at orientation as well. The Macbook fee is due at orientation and if you wish to have the Macbook fee set up on a monthly bank draft, please see Mrs. Henson on the evening of orientation to have this option finalized.

 

iPad Information:

2012-2013 Extended Care:

Clarksville Academy is pleased to offer our patrons a new Extended Care Program.  Our program will serve our patrons’ children Monday through Friday, with the option of choosing full or part time care.  This service is available for children in Pre-K through 5th Grade.  Morning care will begin at 6:30 A.M. until 8:00 A.M. and after school care will be from 2:45 P.M. until 5:45 P.M.  Our structured program will keep your child engaged through many fun and exciting activities.  These activities will include: special focus activities, cooking activities, crafts, a variety of entertainment, and homework/tutorial time.  The children will also have snack time, as well as outside activity.

Student Basics Fee for 2012-2013

This year we are pleased to share that all students in Pre-K through 12th grade will have a flat, on-time, fee of $90 for student basics. This fee will cover an All-Sports Pass for the year, fees for special events, such as: Homecoming, Bonfire, Spirit Week events, Government Day, Back to School Bash, course support materials, etc. This $90 fee is due at orientation. If paying by check, please make checks payable to Clarksville Academy.

 

Orientations:

**At Orientation, you will receive PowerSchool, Parent Volunteer, CAA Membership, and Handbook Information. The 2012-2013 Student Handbook will be available online before orientation meetings. Please review this when available. The Student Handbook will also be available electronically during orientation for viewing purposes. A form will be available for you to sign stating that you have reviewed the material. Also, at orientation we will be accepting any payments that need to be processed.

 

Lower School-Grades PK-5: All orientations will be held in the Miller Activities Center.

August 9 1st Grade 8:00-9:00 A.M.

2nd Grade 9:00-10:00 A.M.

3rd Grade 10:00-11:00 A.M.

4th Grade 11:00-12:00 A.M.

5th Grade 12:00-1:00 P.M.

 

August 10 Kindergarten 9:30 A.M.

Pre-Kindergarten 10:30 A.M.

 

Intermediate School-Grades 6-8: All orientations will be held in the Miller Activities Center.

Each Intermediate School student and parent/guardian are required to attend an iLearn class for acquiring their iPad, logging in and setting email/iTunes/Drop Box accounts, and review of care/safety/software/acceptable use policy for the upcoming school year.

Intermediate & Upper School Make Up iLearn Session:

July 30    Anytime between 8:30 A.M. and 2:00 P.M. with Mrs. Cara Miller

 

For grades 2-12:

All Summer Reading assignments (required) are available online at www.clarksvilleacademy.com— many books have printable study guides to complete and turn-in during the first week of school.

School supply lists are available online.

 

For grades Pre-K – 12:

If you have not already turned in the 2012-2013 Emergency Form for your child(ren), please have this required document on file with the office before your child(ren) begins school on August 13th, 2012You may access this document on our website at www.clarksvilleacademy.com

 

Directory Information: The 2012-2013 Directory will be created through PowerSchool.  Please log into your child(ren)’s account to verify that your contact information is correct.

You may do so by visiting our website at www.clarksvilleacdemy.com.  Click on the PowerSchool: Parent Login link located under the Quick Links box in the bottom right hand corner of the home page.  Enter your child(ren)’s user name and password.  There is a demographics link on the left hand side of your child(ren)’s account where your information may be verified and updated.

PLEASE NOTE: WE WILL NOT MAIL DIRECTORY FORMS OUT THIS YEAR.

Please make sure we have the correct information to publish in next year’s directory.  Call  the CA office at 931-647-6311, or email Kari Turner at kturner@clarksvilleacademy.com, or Sheila Ragsdale at sragsdale@clarksvilleacademy.com, if you do not have your login information.  If you are a first year cougar, then you will receive your login information at orientation.
