Welcome Wednesdays

Leadership Clarksville

Leadership Clarksville, a group of 31 adult leaders in the Clarksville community visited our campus on February 14. While here, they enjoyed a delicious breakfast prepared by Karen Dirksen and her staff and afterward toured various parts of our school. Check out the pictures from their visit below.

Coach Todd Hood, Coach Brett Bauer and Nurse Jennifer Bagwell spoke with participants about our student & faculty fitness programs, the inclusion of our newly purchased heart monitors and why we feel physical education is important no matter your age.

Third grade teachers, Mrs. Kayla Morgan & Mrs. Karen Meek along with Science teacher JoAnn Askew discussed our cooperative learning from classroom to enrichment and how our students are meeting higher level standards. Students from the 3rd grade demonstrated their Simple Machine Projects (these projects meet a 5th grade state standard!)

Mrs. Brittney Rowlett and two groups from our Challenge Based Learning program talked about the role of Challenge Based Learning, what their groups had achieved and what an impact it was making on not only the students, but on the Clarksville community.

Sixth grade teacher, Mrs. Kim Goad along with a group of her students, showed our LC guests the use of iPads in our classrooms. Using the app “Elements”, Mrs. Goad showed our guests the fun of learning the period table and the elements with this interactive app. Students and guests worked together to research the elements and do a project on them.

National Honor Society/Jr National Honor Society

The National Honor Society and National Junior Honor Society induction will be held next Thursday, February 28th, at 8:00 A.M. in the gymnasium.


Bowling Club

Bowling Club will begin NEXT Wednesday, February 27 at 3:30 at the Pinnacle.

Basketball News

Our boys and girls had a great season and we are very proud of them. We appreciate the support of the fans who came out to cheer us on this season!


Varsity Soccer

The first Varsity Soccer game will be February 21st at 5 at Winn Field against Davidson County.


Intermediate Soccer News

Intermediate School Soccer tryouts will be held on Feb 16 from 1-2:30, Feb 18, 19 & 21 from 4:30-5:30 all at the soccer field.  First round cuts will be made after the Feb 18 tryout.  Everyone should bring water, soccer cleats, shin-guards, soccer ball, and proper athletic attire.  All games will be played March 11 through May 8th on Mondays and Wednesdays.  Contact Rylan Kean at or 237-1760.


Softball News

Softball will continue conditioning this week on Tuesday we will be at the hitting facility 5-6:30 & Wednesday-Friday from 3:30-5:30 at the field.


Black History Month

February is Black History month and at CA we spend time in the classroom studying prominent African American figures in our past and present. On each of the individual school boards you will find what your student is studying in regards to this topic this month!

Science Fun

Our lower school science classes are participating in an experiment of the week with Mrs. Askew. Throughout the semester she will video these and we will post them on our Clarksville Academy YouTube Channel. We encourage you to go out and watch these videos weekly.


Lower School Art

Like our Lower School Art Facebook Page! Mrs. Lawless is collecting bottle caps of all sizes and colors for an art project. Please save your bottle caps and bring in a Ziploc bag to lower school art.


Box Tops & Campbell’s Labels

This is a reminder that CA collects Campbell’s labels and Box Tops through our CAA. The money raised from this project funds various school improvement projects. Last year we raised over $1500 through the Box Tops program alone! Please turn yours into your child’s teacher or Ms. Turnage in the front office.



Please join Fellowship of Christian Athletes on Wednesdays for our meeting! This year Upper school FCA will meet in Coach Holt’s classroom #118 (under the gym) and Intermediate school FCA will meet in Mrs. Hinson’s classroom #128. We will be meeting on Wednesday mornings at 7:15 a.m. Please come and be a part of FCA, everyone is welcome! You do not have to be an athlete to participate in FCA.
