Parking

A reminder that all spots to the left of the grassy median (with the fountain) are reserved faculty parking spots.  The spots directly in front of school are also reserved administration spots.  The first 3 spaces closest to the school are reserved for visitors to our campus.  Parents are encouraged to park in the spaces along side the hill leading up from the Batson (Extended Care) Building.  Parents should not park on Anderson Drive or in front of school during drop-off or pick-up.  Students should be ready to exit the vehicle prior to pulling up to the front of school during drop-off. This will enable us to keep the flow of traffic going.  If your child is not ready to exit the vehicle, please pull into one of the above mentioned parking spaces.  Thank you.

Heritage Bank Player of the Week – 9/21 – John Ross Rudolph

Carla Allison from Heritage Bank and Head Coach Todd Hood presented Junior John Ross Rudolph with the Player of the Week Award. John received this award because of his defensive performance in the Portland game. John lead the Cougars in tackles with 10 and had one sack. “John is such a great player to coach,” said Coach Hood. John has been starting on defense since his freshman year. John is a force on defense and teams are having a hard time blocking him. He is having a great junior year. The Cougars are back at home again this week as they play district foe White House Heritage. Come join us Cougar fans!!! This is a big time game for our team and its HOMECOMING!!! See everyone there. Game time is 7:30pm.

Heritage Bank Player of the Week – 9/14 – Jacob Rugen

Carla Allison from Heritage Bank and Head Coach Todd Hood presented junior Jacob Rugen with the Player of the Week Award. Jacob received this award because of his outstanding performance in the East Robertson game.  Jacob was 9 of 16 passing for 249 yards and 3 touchdowns and one interception. He also carried the ball 7 times for 81 yards and 1 touchdown. Jacob accounted for 320 total yards in the Cougars 49 to 6 win against the Indians. “Jacob continues to lead our team every week and his effort and determination to win games is second to none,” said Coach Hood. Jacob continues to learn our offensive system and he works very hard at being our general on the field. His performance two weeks ago was outstanding.

Our fine arts showcase was a huge success and we thank all of you who came out to see it!  Our Intermediate School students did a fantastic job!

Football Time

It’s Homecoming at CA!  Join us Friday at 5:30 for tailgating prior to the game and then make your way to the stands for the 7:30 PM kickoff!  Our Cougars have had a wonderful season and you aren’t going to want to miss a minute of it.

Tailgating Alley

Tailgating was a HUGE success this past week and we’ve expanded our Tailgate Alley!  Tailgating at Simpson field will be done in the area between Wes Smith Baseball Field and Simpson field.  All spots must be reserved and will be on a first come first serve basis.  Over flow tailgating will be in the area facing Burchett Softball Field.  For reservations contact Theresia Burchett at tburchett@clarksvilleacademy.com with your name, email and family names of those tailgating in your tailgate spot.  (Each family can reserve one spot that can include multiple families if you prefer.) Special request for specific slots or neighbors are welcome, but not guaranteed. Reservations can be made now for the remainder of the season.  Many of the slots are already reserved so make sure you get yours today! Once your reservation is made, you will receive an email confirmation and parking pass from Theresia Burchett.  Please make sure you receive an email confirmation.  If you have not, we may not have your reservation.  We encourage everyone to tailgate an support our Cougars!

Lower School Art

Like our Lower School Art Facebook Page! Mrs. Lawless is collecting bottle caps of all sizes and colors for an art project.  Please save your bottle caps and bring in a Ziploc bag to lower school art.  Towards the end of September, fourth graders are going to be designing and constructing scarecrows. We are in need of old Halloween costumes, old clothes, hats, gloves, etc. We will take anything that might make a scarecrow come to life. All donations will be appreciated! Send in with your child or leave at front desk with Mrs. Turnage for Mrs. Lawless.

Box Tops & Campbell’s Labels

This is a reminder that CA collects Campbell’s labels and Box Tops through our CAA.  The money raised from this project funds various school improvement projects.  Last year we raised over $1500 through the Box Tops program alone!  Please turn yours into your child’s teacher or Ms. Turnage in the front office.

Emergency Cards

Please return emergency cards to the front office, your child’s classroom teacher, or your child’s class sponsor, by Wednesday, August 22.  State law mandates that we have this important information on file for every student who attends Clarksville Academy. You can find the form online at: https://clarksvilleacademy.com/tcg/wp-content/uploads/CA-new-student-info-sheet-2012-2013.pdf

FCA

Please join Fellowship of Christian Athletes on Wednesdays for our meeting! This year Upper school FCA will meet in Coach Holt’s classroom #118 (under the gym) and Intermediate school FCA will meet in Mrs. Hinson’s classroom #128. We will be meeting on Wednesday mornings at 7:15 a.m. Please come and be a part of FCA, everyone is welcome! You do not have to be an athlete to participate in FCA.

Fall Festival

Fall Festival is right around the corner and a meeting will be held on Monday, September 17 at 2PM to discuss the class booths.  Below is a list of the class baskets.  We ask that each class/grade donate items for their basket.  Class baskets are auctioned off during the fall festival.  The money raised is donated to CAA, which has many school improvement activities throughout the year.  Please see your classroom with questions or email Tricia Wallace to register your booth: twallace@clarksvilleacademy.com.

Please remember that all students must pre-order when eating from the hot lunch line (this includes all those who have pre-paid for an entire year of lunches) and that students will be charged for a lunch if ordered unless they are absent.  These new online forms will go out on Monday and will be requested back by no later than Wednesday of that week. Please send hot lunch payments in a Ziploc bag or envelope clearly marked with your child’s name, grade and teacher.  We are so excited about this new process and hope you will be too!  Please contact Ms. Tooley at lunch@clarksvilleacademy.com.
