Book Fair

The All Star Book Fair will be on campus November 26-30!  It will be open 7:30-3:30 and we invite you to come and shop!  Books make a wonderful present!  This is a wonderful event on our campus every year and one you won’t want to miss!  There will be books for kids of all ages!  Don’t forget to stop by!

 

FCA

Beginning Monday, November 26, Clarksville Academy’s high school Fellowship of Christian Athletes will start working toward our Christmas projects for 2012.

Our wish list of projects include: The Smile Train-surgery for a child, Military Boxes- FCA deployed family members, Angel Tree Child/Family-providing clothes, food and toys, Nursing Home-fruit baskets and cards, Asia- bios and water filter, chickens and pigs, Homeless Shelter-clothing and personal items

If you would like to be a part of making these gifts a reality, a donation box will be available in the main foyer. Thank you and Merry Christmas!

 

LIVE UNITED

Basketball News

Monday, November 26, travel all the way to Montgomery Central to catch the Cougar Basketball teams take on the Indians.  JV starts at 4:30 with girls tip off at 6 and boys immediately following.

Join us for our first home game of the season as the Cougars take on Todd County on Tuesday, November 26 with the JV game beginning at 4:30.  Show your Cougar Pride for this BLUE OUT and cheer on our Cougars to a victory!

Then on Friday, November 30, travel to White House Heritage to watch the teams!  JV begins at 4:30.

 

Varsity Bowling News

Our bowlers travel to Springfield on Thursday, November 29 for another heated match!  They have had an amazing season!  Good luck guys!

 

Intermediate Basketball News

On Monday, November 26, the teams travel to Pleasant View Christian, they play Coopertown on Wednesday, November 28 at HOME and on Thursday, November 29 they travel to Nashville Christian.  Come out and support your Intermediate School Cougars!  Tip off is 6:00 p.m.

Drama Class

The drama class will present “Short Attention Span Theatre” on Thursday night, November 29, at 7pm in the foyer. Admission is $3.00 for CA students, $5.00 general admission. The show will feature a series of one acts, monologues, and improv.

 

Parents Night Out

Parent’s Night Out offered by the Varsity Cheerleaders

Child Care will be available this Saturday, December 1st, at Clarksville Academy for any student whose parent is interested in beginning their Christmas shopping early, or if you just need a night out without the kids.  This is a fundraiser for the Varsity Cheerleaders in support of their trip to perform in the 2013 Capital One Bowl in Orlando, Florida, on New Year’s Day!  The child care will be offered in the Auxiliary gym from 6:00pm to 10:00pm for $25.00 (multiple child discount available).  If you are interested, please sign up by returning the form that was sent home with your child or by emailing Mrs. Denise Walker at dwalker@clarksvilleacademy.com by noon on Friday, November 30th!  Fun will be had by all, movies, games, and so much more!

 

CA Chick-fil-a Night at the new Wilma Rudolph location

The Varsity Cheerleaders are hosting a Chick-fil-a night on Monday, December 3rd, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm in support of their trip to perform in the 2013 Capital One Bowl in Orlando, Florida, on New Year’s Day!  Please bring your family to Chick-fil-a for dinner on Monday!

 

Choir News

On Saturday, Dec. 1st, all choirs from Clarksville Academy will be performing at the annual Montgomery County Tree Lighting held at the courthouse. The 4th/5th grade choir and Intermediate Choir will sing at 4:40. Concert Choir sings at 5:00.

We invite you to join us immediately before the Christmas Parade and support our choirs as they ring in the Christmas season!

 

Clarksville Academy Concert Choir will travel to New York City Dec. 6-9 to perform in the city and for Gallery Church. The church pastor is Freddy Wyatt, brother of our kindergarten teacher, Diana Samuels. The choir will also be touring the famous sites in the city and have tickets to see the Lion King. We wish safe travels for the choir as they fly to New York!

Science Fun

Our lower school science classes are participating in an experiment of the week with Mrs. Askew.  Throughout the semester she will video these and we will post them on our Clarksville Academy YouTube Channel.  We encourage you to go out and watch these videos weekly.

Lower School Art

Like our Lower School Art Facebook Page! Mrs. Lawless is collecting bottle caps of all sizes and colors for an art project.  Please save your bottle caps and bring in a Ziploc bag to lower school art.

 

Box Tops & Campbell’s Labels

This is a reminder that CA collects Campbell’s labels and Box Tops through our CAA.  The money raised from this project funds various school improvement projects.  Last year we raised over $1500 through the Box Tops program alone!  Please turn yours into your child’s teacher or Ms. Turnage in the front office.

 

FCA

Please join Fellowship of Christian Athletes on Wednesdays for our meeting! This year Upper school FCA will meet in Coach Holt’s classroom #118 (under the gym) and Intermediate school FCA will meet in Mrs. Hinson’s classroom #128. We will be meeting on Wednesday mornings at 7:15 a.m. Please come and be a part of FCA, everyone is welcome! You do not have to be an athlete to participate in FCA.
