Varsity Girls Basketball

New varsity girl’s basketball coach, Jerri Bragg, addressed the Lady Cougar Basketball team players during Wednesday’s morning assembly at Clarksville Academy.  Bragg was named the 2013-2014 new head coach last week when she accepted a full time position as Physical Education/Fitness teacher at Clarksville Academy.  Jerri has served as a non-faculty cross-country head coach for CA this past year.

“I look forward to joining CA as a full time employee and coaching basketball and cross country.” Bragg said.   Bragg is no stranger to basketball and has plenty of depth with previous coaching experience. Jerri played softball collegiately at North Georgia College & State University, the same institute that received her teaching degree.  Her coaching highlights include,  Varsity Assistant Girl’s basketball coach at Gainesville High School and Head Girls Middle School Basketball Coach at Gainesville Middle School, in Hall County Georgia where she won back to back county championships.

Coach Jerri Bragg is replacing the position vacated by Jessica Grayson. Grayson has been given the opportunity to return to collegiate basketball and feels this is the best time for her to return to familiar path.  Grayson will continue in her teaching duties at CA through the end of the school year.  She made an immediate impact on the girls basketball program.  Grayson strived to get the best out of her team and players and her commitment to the game and passion for winning will guide her throughout her coaching career.

Coach Bragg and her husband, Jeff have two children currently enrolled at CA, Layne in 3rd grade and Garrett in 5th grade.  “I look forward to empowering student athletes to reach their full potential by inspiring them to commit to their teammates, develop a passion for competition, and to become productive adults through an extremely positive athletic experience here at Clarksville Academy.

Thank you!

Thank you to all the parents and volunteers who cooked, brought goodies, were lunch monitors and those who showed their teachers how much you care during Teacher Appreciation week last week.  We appreciate you!
