Steak Dinner

The annual Steak Dinner, An Evening with Friends was a huge success! Thank you to all the parents, students and staff that made it such a wonderful night! A special thank you to Debbie Hollis & Megan Bubb for their leadership of our choirs, Robert Neitzke for the wonderful backdrop and Karen Dirksen for the wonderful meal!




Future Expansion

The first preview of building rendering was shown during our Annual Steak Dinner.  The drawing will be on display in our foyer as well as online for our parents students alumni and other interested stake holders to view.  We encourage you to share your thoughts and comments with Sally Allen ( and Tricia Wallace in our Development Office, Sharon Grimes, Board of Trustee Chair and Kay Drew ( our Head of School.


Lower School Art Magnets

The magnets for our Lower School Art Fundraiser have arrived and have been sent home with your child. If you wish to purchase your child’s magnet, please send in $6. If writing a check, please make it out to Clarksville Academy. If you do not wish to purchase the magnet, please return it. All magnets, orders and money need to be returned to your child’s teacher by March 27. Thanks so much for your support!


Summer Camp

Wondering what to do this summer? Our summer camps have something for everyone! We have camps starting with our Pre-K students through to adults! Want to learn more about the iPad? How about some fun with Legos? Art or crafts more your thing? Are you an adult and looking to learn more about photography from a professional? Do you like to do science experiments? Play sports? No matter what your interest, we have something for you! Check it out online, but don’t delay our camps are filling up fast! Camps are not limited to CA students so bring a friend!


Intermediate School Dance Try-Outs

Intermediate School Dance Team Try-Outs have been changed to April 8-11.  There will be a sign up sheet on Mrs. Turnage’s desk along with a tryout packet. Questions about tryouts? Contact Mrs. Truitt at


Upper School Cheer Try-Outs

For grades 8-11–This is a reminder that we begin Varsity Cheer Tryouts Monday!  We also have the parent meeting Monday to answer any questions about cheer or tryouts. The parent meeting will be Monday, March 25, 2013, at 4:30 in the Aux. Gym.

Tryout Schedule:
Monday, March 25, 2013, from 3:15 – 4:30 in the Auxiliary gym.
Tuesday, March 26, 2013, from 3:15 – 4:45 in the Auxiliary gym.
Wednesday, March 27, 2013, from 3:15 – 4:45 in the Auxiliary gym.
Thursday, March 28, 2013, from 3:00 until tryouts are over.
Participants may leave after they tryout, they will be notified that evening about the results.



Chaney Laurent will have her photography 2 photo exhibit on display in the Brenda Stone Fine Arts Building beginning on March 26. Her opening reception will be at 6 PM on this date. We invite all our Cougars to come out and support Chaney.

Challenge Based Learning Group Project

Operation Restore Coy Lacy Park will be held on Saturday, April 13 from 1-3 p.m. This is a day where we will be working on the lawn, playground, and backstop of Coy Lacy Park. If you are interested in helping us work to make this park a better place please come and bring anything you think would be helpful such as weed eaters, shovels, paint, and even flowers! Science Fun

Our lower school science classes are participating in an experiment of the week with Mrs. Askew. Throughout the semester she will video these and we will post them on our Clarksville Academy YouTube Channel. We encourage you to go out and watch these videos weekly.


Lower School Art

Like our Lower School Art Facebook Page! Mrs. Lawless is collecting bottle caps of all sizes and colors for an art project. Please save your bottle caps and bring in a Ziploc bag to lower school art.


Box Tops & Campbell’s Labels

This is a reminder that CA collects Campbell’s labels and Box Tops through our CAA. The money raised from this project funds various school improvement projects. Last year we raised over $1500 through the Box Tops program alone! Please turn yours into your child’s teacher or Ms. Turnage in the front office.



Please join Fellowship of Christian Athletes on Wednesdays for our meeting! This year Upper school FCA will meet in Coach Holt’s classroom #118 (under the gym) and Intermediate school FCA will meet in Mrs. Hinson’s classroom #128. We will be meeting on Wednesday mornings at 7:15 a.m. Please come and be a part of FCA, everyone is welcome! You do not have to be an athlete to participate in FCA.
