All School News for January 6 – 12 , 2014


The high school Fellowship of Christian Athletes would like to thank everyone who participated in our “Dress Down Day” and for the generous donations made to our Christmas Projects. We wanted to share what our 2013 Christmas gifts were with you.

-The Smile Train: A Christmas Smile for two children with cleft surgeries.
-Gospel For Asia: Two BioSand Water Filters, Bibles, Rabbits, Chickens, and Gospel Tracts.
-Angel Tree: Christmas for four families in the Clarksville Area.
-Military Boxes: Boxes sent to deployed F.C.A. family members.
-Homeless Shelter, Manna Café, and shut-in Families: Food, monetary donations, gloves and scarves.
-Nursing Home: Three Clarksville Nursing homes received Fruit Boxes along with beautifully decorated cards.

A very special Thank You to our lower school teacher and students for helping to make this project “Extra Special” by decorating the cards!

FCA Meeting

Please note that the FCA will not meet this Wednesday, January 8th. The next FCA meeting will be next Wednesday, January 15th. This includes both Upper School and Intermediate School FCA.


Welcome Wednesdays

During the month of February Clarksville Academy offers Welcome Wednesdays.  Every Wednesday during the month, we will host campus tours, student shadowing days and a more inside look at Clarksville Academy.  If you know of a family who should be invited to Welcome Wednesday please email their information to Sally Allen at  Thank you!




A CBL group is creating a photography piece to honor Veterans and service members. Please email It should include the first and last name, rank, and service branch. The deadline is January 20, 2014.

Gift-Wrapping Tubes Wanted

Please send in gift-wrapping tubes, any size or length, to Mrs. Askew. All donations can be left in the Science Lab.


Future Expansion

The first preview of building rendering was shown during our Annual Steak Dinner. The drawing will be on display in our foyer as well as online for our parents, students, alumni and other interested stake holders to view. We encourage you to share your thoughts and comments with Sally Allen ( and Tricia Wallace in our Development Office, Sharon Grimes, Board of Trustee Chair and Kay Drew ( our Head of School.

News from the Cougar Café

Clarksville Academy now offers a Cougar Cash Account option to better assist children with their lunch needs! This convenient option gives families the opportunity to deposit money into an account and this money can be withdrawn for miscellaneous items that are available at the express window or the hot lunch window.

Box Tops & Campbell’s Labels

This is a reminder that CA collects Campbell’s labels and Box Tops through our CAA. The money raised from this project funds various school improvement projects. Last year we raised over $2000 through the Box Tops program alone! Please turn yours into your child’s teacher or Ms. Turnage in the front office.
