In the News
In the News— Clarksville Academy’s sixth grade teacher, Kimberly Goad, has been selected from a national field of educators to attend this year’s presidential inaugural conference in Washington DC. Her nomination was chosen by the National Young Scholars Program to act as a faculty advisor for middle school students traveling to this prestigious event.
After an intense four day training, she will lead a group of high achieving middle school scholars who have travelled to our nation’s capital for a unique and extraordinary opportunity to explore the presidency, the presidential campaign and take part in the excitement and celebration of America’s 57th Presidential Inauguration.
The Presidential Inaugural Conference is a nonpartisan educational event held in Washington, D.C. every four years for middle school and high school students in celebration and in recognition of the Inauguration of the President and Vice President of the United States.
You can follow Mrs. Goad’s blog online at https://clarksvilleacademy.com/category/expanding-the-experience. She left for Washington D.C. on Saturday.
The Physical Education Department is excited to offer a new unit of study! Students in grades 2-9 will participate in a Roller Skating unit beginning in February! This unit will be fun for everyone (we might even include an 80s roller disco theme!) and will teach our students a sense of balance, coordination, and give them a great physical workout. Information was sent home with your student last week. The permission form and $12 should be returned to the PE department ASAP.
Note from the Nurse

A reminder to all parents, if your child is going to be absent or is absent due to illness, we ask that you notify the school. Thank you.
