All School News for December 3 – 9, 2012

Monday’s Early Closing

A big thank you to our staff, administration, teachers, and parents for making today’s early dismissal go smoothly.  At 12:10 P.M. we received an anonymous call stating there was a bomb on campus.  At that time we phoned 911 and then followed our crisis plan and evacuated campus to Smith-Trahern Mansion.   A core group of the faculty remained on campus and worked closely with authorities who investigated the threat.  Following our discussions with them we felt it was best to dismiss school for the remaining two hours of day.  A debriefing was held with our school leaders, the bomb authorities, and Clarksville Police after all the students had been picked up from campus to review our actions and gain professional advice.  We appreciate your quickness in response in getting your child and your cooperation with this surprise release.  We have been notified by authorities that in the last week, they have received over 30 bomb threats in Middle TN in the last week.  We do take these threats very seriously and we appreciate your help with this matter.  –Mrs. Kay Drew, Head of School

Clarksville Academy’s high school Fellowship of Christian Athletes will start working toward our Christmas projects for 2012.

Our wish list of projects include: The Smile Train-surgery for a child, Military Boxes- FCA deployed family members, Angel Tree Child/Family-providing clothes, food and toys, Nursing Home-fruit baskets and cards, Asia- bios and water filter, chickens and pigs, Homeless Shelter-clothing and personal items

If you would like to be a part of making these gifts a reality, a donation box will be available in the main foyer. Thank you and Merry Christmas!

When visiting campus, we remind you that the row of parking directly in front of school and the first two rows near the Cougar Cruisers are reserved faculty/staff spaces.  We ask all parents and guests to park on the hill to the right of the school.  Thank you.
