Important Update to Emergency/Medical/Demographic Form
Because Clarksville Academy is streamlining data and requiring certain forms to be completed electronically, it is mandatory that you log in to your child’s PowerSchool account and complete the Emergency/Medical/Demographic section. Our revised form has additional pertinent information that assists us in the safety of your child and follows state regulations.
You will find a portion that asks you to list any individual who is authorized to pick up your child and there is a drop down box asking “yes” or “no” to two new questions.
Any emergency card received prior to today’s date is no longer valid. You must log in and complete the new form, and may do so by clicking the link below. Your electronic signature and date is required to validate all information provided is accurate.

Drop off / Pick up
Parents, please remember to drop off/pick up your student(s) at the front of school at our main building entrance. Do not drop off/pick up your student(s) in the back/side parking lots as this is a safety hazard to our students and causes traffic issues for other parents and our neighbors down Cumberland Terrace.
Afternoon Pick up reminder
PRE-K, 3rd Grade, and OLDER SIBLINGS– Pre-K student pick up will be in the right-hand lane of Anderson Drive, which is closest to the Pre-K buildings, at 2:45 P.M. Third grade students will be dismissed from this same area at 2:50 P.M. and these students are escorted to this pick up point by their teachers.
KINDERGARTEN, 1st Grade, and OLDER SIBLINGS-Kindergarten and 1st grade student pick up will be in the right-hand lane coming from the lower North Second Street entrance, which is closest to the Main Building with the curved entry walls and planters. Dismissal time is 2:45p.m. for these students.
SECOND, FOURTH, AND FIFTH GRADE STUDENTS- Grade 2 will be picked up from the front of the Fine Arts building. Students are walked to the Fine Arts building with their respective teachers. Grades 4 & 5 will be picked up in front of the Pre-K buildings. Vehicles picking up these students should stay to the right of Anderson Drive. Please take note of the following dismissal times.
- 2nd Grade– 2:50 P.M.
- 4th Grade– 2:55 P.M.
- 5th Grade– 3:00 P.M.
- Intermediate School – 3:00 P.M.
- Upper School – 3:00 P.M.
*Please remember that all older siblings have been instructed to go to the youngest student’s pick up area and load with their younger sibling. They will be dismissed early in order to meet the younger sibling at the specified time.
**Vehicles that are picking up students should display the correct card in the windshield.
We are well under way on our Magazine Sales! Our 2nd turn-in day is Thursday, August 29. Our Final Turn-In day will be Wednesday, September 4! Each date your child turns in a magazine order they get to come forward during the prize assembly! Remember 5 magazines qualifies you to receive the new Loud & Loyal T-Shirt! 10 sales gets a variety of prizes depending on age and for our PK-5th grade students 10 sales will earn you a ticket to our movie spectacular! Challenge Based Learning
The 2013-2014 kickoff event for the Challenge Based Learning program will be on Friday, August 30, from 8:00 a.m.-9:00 a.m. We will be hosting a CBL Introduction Day Assembly. This year our CBL focus will be IMPACT Clarksville: Reduce our Carbon Footprint. We will reveal the 10 Essential Questions on which our CBL groups will be working. CA has invited 10 community leaders, from organizations around our city, to speak about how their particular group impacts Clarksville. Our CBL groups will be partnering with these leaders in our guiding activities throughout the course of our year, in our off campus endeavors as we IMPACT Clarksville. By collaborating with our CBL team members, combining our talents, and engaging in our off campus guiding activities, we will begin to define our challenges and reach our solutions. Our ultimate goal: to IMPACT Clarksville & Reduce our Carbon Footprint.

Bowling Club at CA
Any 4th–7th grader is invited to join the Bowling Club. We will meet at The Pinnacle every Wednesday starting September 11th –November 6th. The cost is $80 and it includes three games of bowling per week, shoe rental, t-shirt and an end of the season party with trophies. Admission to CA athletic events is $6.00 this year. Parents can buy an All Sports Pass for $75.00.
Its that time of the year again! Football Time at Clarksville Academy! As many of you know we began Tailgate Alley in the last couple of years and it has taken off! We will have reserved spots that face the football field for all home games. These spots are reserved on a first come first serve basis and can now be reserved for the season. In order for Tailgate Alley to run smoothly, we have a few guidelines
- We encourage multiple families to tailgate together–this makes it more fun! However, only one parking spot per tailgate reservation will be provided. If multiple families tailgate together all but one will need to park in general parking. Please do not have more than one car/truck per tailgate spot. We ask that no one park in the grassy area next to the baseball fence, which faces the football field.
- Each tailgate reservation must have a tent/table. Make it fun and even decorate a little!
- Tailgate Alley is a chance to show your support for our football team prior to the game. It is not to be used for parking close to the field. All reserved spots should include tailgating.
- If you reserve a spot for the whole season, please set up for each game. If you cannot make a game, please contact Theresia Burchett in advance so that your spot may be given to another family.
- We will work to assign requested spots, but please remember it is first come and we cannot guarantee a specific spot or specific neighbors.
- HAVE FUN! Enjoy tailgate alley and show your support for our Cougars!

Please join Fellowship of Christian Athletes on Wednesdays for our meeting! This year Upper school FCA will meet in Coach Holt’s classroom #118 (under the gym) and Intermediate school FCA will meet in Mrs. Hinson’s classroom #128. We will be meeting on Wednesday mornings at 7:15 a.m. Please come and be a part of FCA, everyone is welcome! You do not have to be an athlete to participate in FCA. Our first meeting will be September 4! See you there!
Box Tops & Campbell’s Labels
This is a reminder that CA collects Campbell’s labels and Box Tops through our CAA. The money raised from this project funds various school improvement projects. Last year we raised over $2000 through the Box Tops program alone! Please turn yours into your child’s teacher or Ms. Turnage in the front office.
We encourage you to download our mobile app from the App Store. We are currently only available on Apple products. This app will provide wonderful updates about what is going on at our school.
The first preview of building rendering was shown during our Annual Steak Dinner. The drawing will be on display in our foyer as well as online for our parents students alumni and other interested stake holders to view. News from the Cougar Café
The Cougar Cafe staff has been hard at work making exciting changes to the dining experience at CA. As we stated last week, we now have a Sub & Salad Shop that is open to all students ages PK-12. You do not have to pre-order for this bar, simply arrive in the Cafe and let them know you would like a sub/salad. Many of you have asked about placing money on your child’s lunch account to use at the Sub Shop or Snack Bar. We are happy to announce that we are now offering this option! You can send money to school in an envelope with your child’s name on it and Lunch Account written on the front. This money can be used for hot lunch, the snack bar (ages 4th grade and up) or the Sub/Salad Shop.
Reminder–we ask that everyone order lunch 1 week in advance. We have had many requests from parents/students for lunch for the week on Mondays. This makes it very hard to plan our meals. We ask that you pre-order using our easy to use online form. Updates regarding lunch accounts and fees will emailed the first week of September.
