Testing Season

Testing season is in full bloom at Clarksville Academy.  Please ensure your child has a number 2 pencil, gets a good nights sleep, and eats breakfast before their test.

8th grade – EXPLORE Test week of April 29th
3rd – 7th grades – CTP4 Testing week of April 29th
11th – 12th grades – AP Testing May 6 – 15

Dear Clarksville Academy Lower and Intermediate School Parents:
Monday, April 29, 2013, will begin the testing for the Educational Records Bureau’s Comprehensive Testing Program #4 (ERB CTP4) and the EXPLORE.  These tests will last throughout the week.  All students in grades 3 through 8 will participate in the testing.  Each teacher has designated appropriate time periods on each day for test administration.
The CTP4 is the only standardized achievement test designed specifically for high achieving schools and schools wishing to set high standards.  The CTP4 provides useful instructional information to administrators and teachers for students up to and including the highest achievement levels.
While we want our students to score well on the CTP4 and the EXPLORE, we must also realized this is but one assessment tool and is used as such.  Please be sure to impress upon your child that sufficient sleep and a nutritious breakfast will help in their performance.  Please attempt to have your child at school on time during each of the testing days.
The results of the CTP4 assessment and EXPLORE will be sent to the school in early summer and you will be given a copy during orientation.  Thank you in advance for your help in making this year’s assessments a success.  If you have any questions, please contact Denise Walker at (931) 647-6311.

Please remember that all children should be on time and ready to test! Students should be in their seats prior to 8AM.

Holt is taking on the responsibility after Matt Wallace, current Head Coach stepped down this spring. Wallace, has seen increased responsibilities with his new title as Director of Finance & Operations. Wallace will continue with the program, but will be the Assistant Coach. After years of coaching together, Holt & Wallace remain a strong team. Holt came to CA last year after seeing great success at Stewart County High School as their Head Varsity Coach. Holt was there for 4 years. He also coached Intermediate Basketball at CA for 3 years. Wallace said, “There is no one I would rather have to lead this team, and help achieve our goals of winning district, region, and state championships, than Coach Holt.  Chuck Holt is a great head coach & I look forward to coaching with him for many years to come.”
