Lower School News: May 15 – May 19, 2017

First Grade

First Grade held their annual Mother’s Day Program on Friday, May 12. The students sang several songs and presented their mom’s with portraits they had created!

Science News

Second grade investigates how heat energy changes matter.  We noted our properties and mass of matter before exposure to heat energy and recorded changes after exposure.

Third graders investigate the the scientific principles of refraction and reflection.  They recorded three different angles of refraction using straws and completed their drawings.  We also noted the power of magnification light  causes when traveling through glass and water.

This is a reminder that CA collects Box Tops through our CAA. The money raised from this project funds various school improvement projects. Last year we raised over $2000 through the Box Tops program alone! Please turn yours into your child’s teacher or Ms. Turnage in the front office.
