Kindergarten
Kindergarten loves having parents and grandparents coming in to read for Dr. Seuss’ birthday and “Read Across America”! We also enjoyed making green eggs and ham!
3rd Grade
Third graders demonstrated creativity by making volcanoes and videoing an eruption with their iPads. Students enjoyed sharing how their projects were built and volcanic eruptions with the class.
APSU nursing students shared information with third grade about good hygiene and hand washing. Third grade students also participated in an activity to see how quickly germs are spread.

FUSE
Math students recently had the opportunity to hear from a guest speaker, Matthew Alsup, who is a Production Software Engineer for Pixar Animation Studios. Matthew is a CA graduate and son of Pre-K teacher, Sherry Alsup. Matthew shared with students the many ways that math is used in his career as well as his co-workers’ jobs at Pixar. It was a very cool experience to get learn information about his career at Pixar and how he merged his interests in art and computer science to find a job he loves. The movies he has or is currently working on include Cars 3, Incredibles 2, Toy Story 4, and Coco in which his name appears in the credits. It was quite a treat for the 4th and 5th graders who had many thoughtful questions and learned a lot about how the math skills they are learning now will help them in their future careers.
Fourth grade FUSE writing students worked in partner groups, as they identified hook statements from different genres of literature.
2nd grade
Throughout the week, second grade students read the story, Mr. Tanen’s Tie Trouble, a story about a principal who sold all his beloved ties to raise money for the school’s playground. Our students used their creativity to design their own ties.
Tornado Victims
Thank you to everyone who gave in our drive for the 5 CA families whose homes were affected during the recent tornados. We raised over $3,000 to be divided among these families. We truly appreciate your kindness, love and support. We are Cougar Strong!
Math Lab
Students in second grade learned about multiplication arrays in Math Lab. They put their arrays on Pots of Gold.
2nd Grade
Second grade students did a phenomenal job on their Presidential Research Reports. They each chose a President, gathered information, and wrote a three paragraph report about the life of their chosen President.
Olympics
Lower School PE enjoyed the finale of the Olympics with their medal ceremony. Each grade had an individual Gold, Silver and Bronze winner. Pictured below are our 4th grade winners.
Clarksville Academy Night
Every Wednesday night at Firehouse Subs. Please go by either the Madison Street store or the Wilma Rudolph store and let them know you are with Clarksville Academy. Clarksville Academy will receive 15% of the sale. Every Wednesday night is Clarksville Academy Night at Firehouse Subs.
CAA
Clarksville Academy Association (CAA) is the parent volunteer association of Clarksville Academy. There are many opportunities throughout the school year for parents, guardians, and grandparents to get involved by volunteering your time and/or contributions. Teacher Treats
Each grade level will have the opportunity one time during the school year to provide Teacher Treats. You may contribute snacks, treats, drinks or a monetary donation to help purchase treats. Please watch for your grade’s week and contact your representative.
Box Top Contest
The CAA invites everyone to participate in our Box Tops Contest this year! When you turn in your Box Tops please label the baggie with your student’s name, grade and teacher (Lower School). A tally will be kept of all box top returns and a Pizza party will be awarded to the class with the most labels returned!
