Lower School News for November 25 – December 1, 2013

Music and Art

Our 5th grade class and teachers, along with Mrs Thomas, LS Music Teacher, and Mrs. Baldwin, Lower School Art Teacher, attended the 2nd Annual Children’s Concert sponsored by APSU Department of Music on November 4th to enjoy a live performance of Camille Saint-Saëns’ Carnival of the Animals featuring the Gateway Chamber Orchestra, Dr. Gregory Wolynec, Director.

Prior to the performance the students had the opportunity to create in art their vision of how  the animals would look in Camille Saint-Saëns’ Carnival of the Animals

CA students had the opportunity to see their art work displayed in the foyer of the APSU Music Building, and to watch their art work come to life on the big screen while listening to the live performance.

This experience allowed our student to connect the beauty of Art and Music.

Box Tops & Campbell’s Labels

This is a reminder that CA collects Campbell’s labels and Box Tops through our CAA. The money raised from this project funds various school improvement projects. Last year we raised over $2000 through the Box Tops program alone! Please turn yours into your child’s teacher or Ms. Turnage in the front office.
