Science Lab

This week in Science Lab our 4th graders investigated “Glaciers” and what effect glacial movement had on the earth’s surface.

We created our “glaciers” by freezing rocks, soil, debris, and water into our “glaciers”.  We examined on a globe certain areas that have been impacted by glacial movement.  We created our “earth surfaces” using tin foil and moved our glaciers on our surfaces.  We identified components of glaciers: glacial till, drumlins, erratics, lateral moraines, glacial debris, and terminus.

Molly Clark, assisted by Ginny Pugh, using iPad minis, did our Lab Photography.

This is a reminder that CA collects Campbell’s labels and Box Tops through our CAA. The money raised from this project funds various school improvement projects. Last year we raised over $2000 through the Box Tops program alone! Please turn yours into your child’s teacher or Ms. Turnage in the front office.
