Math Lab

In Math Lab, students created congruent shapes using tempera paint. The students dipped pieces of yarn in the paint, placed it on constructed paper, folded the paper, and pulled the yarn out of the paper to create these unusual congruent pictures. Look to see what interesting shapes you can find!

Students in second grade studied coins and money amounts. They practiced how to make different amounts of change using the smallest amount of coins in math. They glued these coins on their mittens to come up with some “cool cash”.

Kindergarten

Kindergarten had a great time at our Dental Health Presentation and enjoyed a fun, hands-on activity afterwards to represent their 20 baby teeth. The students compared and contrasted the differences between human teeth and animal teeth. The students had so much fun creating their mouth and discussing how to take care of their teeth for Dental Health month.

FUSE

Our FUSE students have taken on a mission—to improve the lives of animals. They have donated food and time to our local shelters. Here is just one of the many students who have visited local shelters and read to the animals. 4th grade FUSE student Garrison Capps, shared his love of reading with the animals at Montgomery County Animal Control! Way to go, Garrison!

Art News

We are pleased to announce that during the month of March we will be running the Original Works Program at Clarksville Academy.

In business since 1989, Original Works is the #1 art based fundraising company in the country, and currently works with thousands of schools and hundreds of thousands of students each year.
Through the Original Works program, each child will have the opportunity to have their very own artwork reproduced onto a variety of high quality products. The products range from magnets, mugs and mouse pads, to ceramic tiles, t-shirts, note cards and nearly two dozen other products.

Each child is eligible to participate in this wonderful program. Once the artwork is created, parents and children will have the opportunity to select which product or products they would like to feature their artwork. The program is designed to encourage creativity and student self-esteem. The resulting products make unique gifts that are practical for any season or occasion.

Complete details on the program will be sent home shortly. Proceeds from the program will be used for purchasing many new and exciting materials in the lower school art room. For more information on Original Works please visit their website at www.originalworks.com.

Box Tops & Campbell’s Labels

This is a reminder that CA collects Campbell’s labels and Box Tops through our CAA. The money raised from this project funds various school improvement projects. Last year we raised over $2000 through the Box Tops program alone! Please turn yours into your child’s teacher or Ms. Turnage in the front office.
