Science

Students in sixth grade create three types of rock in a candy lab. Creating metamorphic, sedimentary and igneous rocks, using Starburst candies and applying pressure, heat and extreme heat.

Cross Country

The IS Cross Country Teams traveled to Percy Warner Park this afternoon to compete in the Nashville Region State Qualifying Meet.All of our IS Cougar runners performed Outstanding.

On the Girls side we had Abagale Hay (14:46), Myrtle Yates (16:17) and Trinity Catellier (16:58) all set personal records for the 2 mile.

For the Boys side Mason Woodrick (12:11), Luke Page (12:35), Beckham Sonnabend (13:17) and Finn Shea (14:07) also set personal records for the 2 mile distance.

It is with great pride to announce that Abagale Hay, Mason Woodrick, Luke Page and Beckham Sonnabend all Qualified for the State Cross Country Championship meet next Sat at the Victor Ash Park in Knoxville, TN.

CA Fall Festival

The Annual CA Fall Festival will be held on Saturday, October 29 from 10-3. If you are a vendor and would like to have booth at this annual event please contact Candice Wall at . More information regarding class participation will be available soon.

School Photo Day will be held on September 19. Packets were sent home on Friday containing order information. Photos may be preordered either online or using the form. Questions regarding school photos may be directed to .

 

FCA

FCA meets weekly in Coach Trent’s room on Wednesday at 7:15AM. We invite every IS student to attend.

 

Box Tops

This is a reminder that CA collects Box Tops through our CAA. The money raised from this project funds various school improvement projects. Last year we raised over $2000 through the Box Tops program alone! Please turn yours into your child’s teacher or Ms. Turnage in the front office.
