Welcome Back!
What a wonderful first week we have had! School started on a high note with our first annual “Cougar Come Back Bash” with over half of our CA families in attendance. CA has so many new and exciting things happening this year. We have added a new classroom, shifted classes to other spaces, added offices, updated the Sports Complex and gym floor, and added some wonderful new faculty members. Our student enrollment is up, and we are pleased that so many have chosen CA. You will not want to miss a single thing at CA, so if you have not already, please register online today at www.clarksvilleacademy.com to receive updates.

Parents may access grades at any time using the Parent Portal at the bottom corner of the CA web-site’s home page. If you have misplaced your access codes please call the office.

If you have not already registered online to receive updates from CA, please do so now. Spring Break Trip to Ireland
Plan to join us on a journey to The Emerald Isle over Spring Break (March 26-April 3). We will have an informational meeting on Monday, August 30 at 6:00pm in the Portable with a representative from EF tours. All students in grades 9-12 and parents who are interested in the trip to Ireland, please make plans to attend this important meeting.
PSAT Information
Attention 10th and 11th grade students and parents!
The Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT) is a program co-sponsored by the College Board and National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC). It is a standardized test that provides firsthand practice for the SAT®. It also gives you a chance to enter NMSC scholarship programs and gain access to college and career planning tools.
The PSAT/NMSQT measures:
Critical reading skills
Math problem-solving skills
Writing skills
PSAT is an OPTIONAL assessment. PSAT will be administered at CA on October 16, 2010 at 8:00 a.m. The fee for PSAT is $13.00. If you plan on taking PSAT, please pay the testing fee in the business office on or before Monday September 6.

Key Club Corner
This year’s officers are hard at work getting ready for a new year of service at CA. The club will begin recruiting the week of August 30th. Our first all-member and interest meeting will be Thursday, September 2 at 7:15am in Ms. Manning’s room. Dues this year will be $25.00.
