MONDAY MESSENGER

Published at Clarksville Academy, 710 North Second, Clarksville, TN 37040

Week of March 22, 2010

Clarksville Academy is a pre-kindergarten through grade twelve, college-preparatory school.

Our mission is to promote academic excellence, moral integrity, and physical and social growth.

Values:  Scholarship-Honor-Character-Respect-Success

Spring Break will begin this Friday, March 26 and will go through Monday, April 5.  We hope that each family has a safe and restful break.

The first day back to school will be Tuesday, April 6.

Annual Evening with Friends Steak Dinner

“An Evening with Friends” annual Steak Dinner is just around the corner.  We are excited about this special night, which will take place April 10, 2010 in the Miller Activities Center at 6 pm.  We are asking for volunteers to help with set up, dinner preparation, and tear down.  If you are interested in donating your time for any of these please contact Sally Allen, at sallen@clarksvilleacademy.com or 647-6311.  Please consider volunteering and helping to make Steak Dinner a huge success.

Boys and Girls State

Students chosen to participate in Boys and Girls State must meet the criteria of being a member of the junior class with at least a 2.75 grade point average.  In addition, students must participate in extracurricular activities, exhibit leadership qualities with participation in leadership roles, and write a well-developed, focused, and neat essay.

Congratulations to the following Boys and Girls State Delegates:

Josh Jerles

Martin Crozier

Collin Saleh

Malcolm Black

Alternate: Hunter Wood

Jessica White

Rachael Massey

Alternate: Courtney Clark and McKinley Perry

FCA Mission Trip

FCA is collecting items for a summer mission trip to Copper Basin in East TN.  We are asking specifically for prom and dance dresses for girls in the 6-12 grades.  Any other clothing items or accessories are welcomed.  FCA will be collecting until the end of April and all items can be dropped off at Mrs. Turnage’s desk in the main foyer.

Parent Notice

Please do not park in the lower lot by the gym or on the hill.  These spots are assigned student parking.  Also, for safety reasons, no student is to be picked up anywhere but out front during regular pick-up times.  The cars in the lower lot are creating a distracting and safety hazard.

In addition, please do not leave cars unattended while parked in the pick-up and drop-off lanes.  Your cooperation is appreciated.

PowerSchool

Parents may access grades at any time using the Parent Portal at the bottom corner of the CA web-site’s home page.  If you have misplaced your access codes please call the office.
