On Friday, March 19, the Cougars will take on Chattanooga School for the Arts & Sciences at 10:00 A.M. in the Murphy Center on MTSU’s campus. Due to the early time for this game we are asking that all students attending the game arrive at school no later than 7:15 A.M. with the buses leaving school at 7:20 A.M. Students should report directly to the bus they rode on Wednesday. Roll call will be done promptly at 7:20 with buses leaving when this is complete. Students not here when we leave will be required to stay on campus for the day. We will maintain a regular academic day for those who wish to stay on campus. We will cheer on the Cougars to another victory and then reboard our buses and head to a local park in Murfreesboro for a lunch of Chick-Fil-A. Students and staff will then return to campus. All students who ride the buses to Murfreesboro should return on that same bus. For those who will return with a parent, we ask that the parent and child check out with the teacher on their bus. Students, staff, alumni and fans are asked to wear their Cougar shirts and show their Blue & Gold pride!
We have been informed that we will be the visitors for Friday’s game so fans should sit on the opposite side of the court from where we were yesterday. When you enter at the ticket gate, you should head to the left side of the Murphy Center.
With a victory on Friday over Chattanooga School for the Arts & Sciences, we will be heading back to the Murphy Center at MTSU to play in the STATE CHAMPIONSHIP on Saturday, March 20th. This will be a first in Cougar Basketball history. Following the conclusion of the STATE CHAMPIONSHIP game and trophy presentation, Malcolm Smith will be recognized as a Mr. Basketball finalist.
Our fan support has been incredible all season long and this has made a difference. The Boys’ Basketball team has told us repeatedly that the energy from our crowd fuels their desire and determination to go for the WIN!
We will meet at the Sango Wal-Mart near the Dollar Tree parking lot at 11:00A.M. to decorate cars. Cheerleaders will be in the parking lot at 11:00 A.M. sharp with the supplies to decorate your car. At 11:15 A.M. we will line up our police escorted “COUGAR CARAVAN!!!” The COUGAR CARAVAN will pull out of the parking lot by 11:30 A.M.!!!! This will put us at the Murphy Center by 1:30 P.M. to get ready to cheer on the COUGARS at our 2:00 P.M. game!!
After our game is over, remember to stick around to cheer on Brianna Fuller & Sarah Wallace who were chosen to sing the National Anthem at the final game of the evening at 6:00 P.M.
Don’t miss out on this history making experience!
