We are headed back to the State Tournament! Our CA Boys Basketball Team earned a place among the top eight teams in front of a packed house last Monday evening against Summertown with a 56-44 win!  The support for the team has been amazing. Not only have our students filled the stands, parents and alumni have caught the contagious enthusiasm and made the sea of blue big and bold!  The Cougars will play in the opening round Wednesday, March 17th, at MTSU’s Murphy Center in Murfreesboro.  We will not know our game time or opponent until Saturday, March 13th, when the official drawing is held.  The possible game start times for Wednesday are 10:00, 11:45, 1:30 or 3:15.  Wednesday, March 17th, we will be taking a 1st-12th grade field trip to the Murphy Center.  If your child is in that class category they will have the option of participating in this trip.  Forms for the trip will be sent home with every student today and Intermediate & Upper School students are asked to return theirs with payment by Friday, March 12th.  Lower school students will need to return theirs by Monday, March 15th.  The cost of the game ticket is $10 and the bus travel is $11.  There will be an optional box lunch for $3.75 or your child is asked to bring a sack lunch from home.

Following a victory on Wednesday, the team will play Friday, March 19th at either 10:00 or 11:45.  We have reserved charter buses and are prepared to return to cheer for the team on this date.  We ask that you assist us in preplanning and complete the information on the form (sent home with your child) for the Friday travel date as well.  Money will be collected at a later time for the Friday, March 19th game.  The State Class A Championship game will be played on Saturday, March 20th at 2:00 p.m. We have a police escort reserved to travel with our families in a caravan for Saturday.  Our meeting point has not yet been determined, but families are encouraged to decorate their vehicles to display Cougar Pride in unison.  Following the conclusion of the game, Malcolm Smith will be honored as one of the Mr. Basketball finalist. We encourage everyone to wear blue.  Students and teachers are asked to wear the blue “To be continued” shirt.
