CA Musical Production
The Fantasticks is a family-friendly, critically acclaimed “perfect musical,” so it comes as no surprise that this musical is the longest running musical in the world. The show tells the story of a young man and the girl next door whose mothers have contrived to make them fall in love by pretending to feud. All goes as planned in the moonlit night, but the sun soon comes up and illuminates the flaws in their giddy happiness. The young lovers leave each other to see the world and return disillusioned but with a deeper understanding of love. Performances will be December 11th and 12th at 7:00 PM in the First Baptist Church Activities Building, Downtown Clarksville. Tickets are $5 and will go on sale December 1st in the CA Business Office.
Coming Home
We invite all parents, students, and alumni to join us for Coming Home on December 11, 2009. From 5pm – 7pm we will host a spaghetti dinner. Alumni are invited to join us at no charge and anyone else is invited to attend for $5. We ask that if possible you RSVP for this event to the front office at 647-6311. During half-time of the boys’ basketball game, we will honor distinguished alumni athletes. Please join us for a wonderful meal, an exciting game, and a special time as we honor our Alumni and our Cougars!
FCA Service Projects
FCA is supporting two Christmas projects this year. CA’s FCA group wants to help the single soldiers from Ft. Campbell’s Special Operations Regiment by sending care packages to those serving in Iraq and Afghanistan. FCA will also sponsor children from The Angel Tree Program. If you wish to help with these projects, please send a monetary donation by Friday, December 18 to Mrs. Turnage in the main foyer.
Cell Phone Recycling Program
The Spanish class Costa Rica trip participants are running a cell phone recycling fundraiser. The following items may be turned in for recycling:
- Cell phones
- Ink Jet cartridges
- MP3 players/ IPODs
- laptop computers
- digital camera
- digital video cameras
If you have any old (working or non-working) items lying around, please send them to support a good cause and help the environment. You may leave donations in the green receptacle in the main lobby or give them directly to Mrs. Rowlett for Key Club credit for high school students.
Lost and Found
The lost and found bins located in the CA Gym will be emptied and the contents donated to the Clarksville Goodwill Organization on December 18th (Friday of Exam Week). If you feel your student might have something in the lost and found bin please check before that date.
Parent Notice
Please do not park in the lower lot by the gym or on the hill. These spots are assigned student parking. Also, for safety reasons, no student is to be picked up anywhere but out front during regular pick-up times. The cars in the lower lot are creating a distracting and safety hazard. Your cooperation is appreciated.
Teacher of the Week
Titans Radio, The Tennessee Titans and American Paper & Twine Company strongly believe that America’s future depends on teachers educating our children, and we would like to applaud the exceptional teachers in the Titans Radio listening area!
The American Paper & Twine Teacher of the Year Program will recognize deserving public and private school teachers in grades Pre-K through 12 who consistently go above and beyond the call of duty and inspire their students to succeed in school and in life.
For each regular game during the 2009 Titans Football Season, one teacher will be selected as the Teacher of the Week. This teacher receives $400 in office supplies from American Paper & Twine Co. and Sanford, a commemorative award, and name recognition on Titans Radio during that week’s game.
At the end of the season, the Teacher of the Year will be chosen through a random drawing of all the Teacher of the Week recipients. This teacher will receive $800 in office supplies, a commemorative award, four tickets to the Titans-Chargers football game at LP Field on December 25, 2009, hotel accommodations, mention on the Titans video board, and name recognition on Titans Radio.
Students, parents, principals, colleagues, or anyone who knows and would like to recognize an outstanding teacher are encouraged to submit nominations. For more information and/or to download or fill out a nomination form, go to www.titansradio.com.
Our school is filled with outstanding, dedicated teachers. Please nominate them for Teacher of the Week.
